"Don't be fooled by the title of this seriocomic ode to success; it's not 'Climb Every Mountain,' kid version. All journeys face perils, whether from indecision, from loneliness, or worst of all, from too much waiting. Seuss' familiar pajama-clad hero is up to the challenge, and his odyssey is captured vividly in busy two-page spreads evoking both the good times (grinning purple elephants, floating golden castles) and the bad (deep blue wells of confusion). Seuss' message is simple but never sappy: life may be a 'Great Balancing Act,' but through it all 'There's fun to be done.'" --(starred) Booklist.

"One of my all time favorite books! I love this book because it talks about all of the places that a person could go or do along the journey of life. I got this book as a gift from my parents for graduation and I absolutely loved it. It is a great book to read at any age throughout life and Dr. Seuss really did an amazing job with putting such concerning thoughts for some into such great wise words."

“The clever, tripping rhymes and whimsical creatures and landscapes here will draw the faithful as usual…Most beguiling, however, is the artful phrasing of the gentle message: caught in life’s waiting games, we wait for ‘the mail to come, or the rain to go/or the phone to ring, or the snow to snow … or a string of pearls, or a pair of pants/or a wig with curls, or Another Chance’…Montaigne pointed out that it’s the journey that matters, not the arrival; here, Seuss explores the same philosophical message in his own inimitably wise and witty style.”
— Kirkus Reviews (starred review)" I did not read this book until I got it as a graduation present. Everyone gets it as a graduation present. Maybe if I'd read it early I would have been inspired to go more places and not be such a slacker. "
— Miranda, 2/11/2014" Dr. Seuss has a way of appealing to all ages with his sing song rhymes giving life lessons with a smile.
