Sixteen-year-old Jude has to get out of tiny Churchtown. She has to escape her outcast status at the Royal Duchy School and her pathetic dad, who hasn’t gotten past her mum’s death. The only bright light is drama, her way out, if only she can get into the Lab in London. It takes a lot of nerve to apply to such a prestigious program, and Jude’s not sure she can do it. Then Judes’s childhood best friend, Stella, returns. Stella, sexy and bold, and ten times cooler than Jude. With Stella by her side, Jude knows she’s capable of anything.
But Stella’s influence extends well beyond the theater. She quickly creeps into every part of Jude’s life, bringing Jude the attention she’s always craved. So even when Stella’s behavior takes a dangerous turn, Jude can’t bring herself to abandon her best friend. And anyway, now that Stella’s back, there’s no stopping her.
In Jude’s dark and tangled story, Joanna Nadin explores the aftermath of loss and the consequences of becoming the person you always wished you were.

"I loved this story. However, to truly enjoy it, you have to just read it. Don't think about it. There is a great twist at the end, but I saw it coming from the beginning (maybe I read a review I don't remember?), which ruined the effect of the book. In the story, it is frustrating that she finds solace with a guy. Can't a girl just cope by herself? Still, a great story of a girl working through her problems, regardless of who she is with."

" The kind of ending I love books to have. "
— Amanda, 2/3/2014" Wonderland is a mix of young adult romance and psychological suspense. Jude was a very innocent, and mindful young girl. Sadly, she is trying to survive in a life with the lack of a mother. Since losing her mother it seems she is completely alone; when he father falls to the dangerous grasp of alcohol. At seventeen years old Jude is on the brink of life changing decisions; as they begin to grow overwhelming she finds herself desperately craving the return of her childhood friend Stella. The wild and carefree Stella would never question major decisions such as the ones that Jude seems to be facing. As if a granted wish from her Fairy Godmother; Stella returns and life does not seem to resolve itself quite as easier as Jude at anticipated. When things begin to grow out of control Jude must find a way to separate herself from her friend, although this may prove to be impossible. "
— The, 1/28/2014" The beginning is a bit slow, but towards the end the story picks up speed-- and becomes more disturbing. It's a good book, but I'd probably only recommend it for people in high school or older. "
— Emily, 1/18/2014" I definitely couldn't put the book down. It's too good. If you've ever lived in the shadow of others, this is a must-read. Or even if you didn't live in the shadow of others, this is a good read. "
— Lauraine, 1/17/2014" I feel like I would have appreciated this more in middle school, because I saw the twist coming in the first chapter so it made the rest of the book kind of boring. And even if I hadn't figured it out the first 5/6 of the book was boring anyway and Jude was a lame character. "
— Kristina, 12/29/2013" This book has an amazing twist! It keeps you on edge the whole time, you will never expect it! "
— Kyla, 11/22/2013" (3.5)I figured out the "twist" somewhere around page 5, but still, there was something about it that had me reading til the wee hours of the night. "
— Anna, 7/6/2013" Really, really good. I totally didn't understand what was happening until the story unfolded. "
— Oceandreamer001, 2/24/2013" This was a bit too much like Choker for me, in that I felt the author was going for a big reveal but instead I could see what was coming a mile away. Having said that, I think the author told a good story and enjoyed reading it. "
— Jessie, 7/28/2012" I just didn't like this book. It was a little odd. Okay, a lot odd. The girl was sixteen and had an evil imaginary friend!!! How can that not be odd? Oh well. Joanna Nadin is still a good writer, I just don't like the plot. =\ "
— Ally, 5/11/2012" Joanna Nadin's Wonderland was a surprisingly thrilling book. I picked it up with little expectations, but was blown away with how intense the plot develops throughout the novel. DEFINITELY GREAT READ "
— Andy, 3/2/2012" I hated this book. Didn't read all of it. <br/>Wow, there is a lot of lushes in this book. I just read Choker by Elizabeth Woods, so the ending didn't even surprise me one bit. Same central theme. Waste of a book. "
— Porsche, 4/22/2011" Honestly, who wouldn't be able figure out what was going on in this book 20 pages in? It's a shame it was so obvious, as the book was quite good otherwise. "
— Verena, 4/16/2011" (3.5)I figured out the "twist" somewhere around page 5, but still, there was something about it that had me reading til the wee hours of the night. "
— Anna, 3/29/2011" Loved this book! I had an inkling of what was really going on and was a bit surprised to see I was right. The writing and voice were brilliant, kudos Miss Nadin. "
— Stephanie, 3/9/2011" This book has an amazing twist! It keeps you on edge the whole time, you will never expect it! "
— Kyla, 1/28/2011" Really, really good. I totally didn't understand what was happening until the story unfolded. "
