"Once Brooks gets going with this unusual manual, it gets better and better. The beginning, for any normal fan of zombie lore, will read much like common sense, but once he hits page 100, it is nonstop insanity up until the very end. Interesting read, and I hope the very same for World War Z."

" I read this on my Nook Color. I did not expect it to be so short (60 pg) but it was ok for what it was. I think the point of the book is more the illustrations than the text, and the illustrations are intense! I can't say that I really enjoyed them (not my kind of thing) but the artist is clearly very talented. "
— Lilyfern, 2/11/2014" Had to give up on this one - "
— Charity, 2/6/2014" Loved the entire book except for the last part with the recorded attacks. I would have given the book 5 stars but i found the ending to be too boring. "
— Mrj314, 2/4/2014" Fantastically convincing guide to surviving the zombie apocalypse. "
— Phil, 2/1/2014" Extremely realistic and practical - which can make for dry reading. The section on recorded zombie attacks is fun. "

— Maureen, 11/16/2013" the sort-of prequel to WWZ, though this isn't a novel. it actually is a zombie survival guide. protip: avoid cars, but dirt bikes work in a pinch "
— Sam, 10/31/2013" This book felt like a some what clever joke that ran on too long. The Forrest Gumpy historical tales were better than the survival guide part but they too felt repetitive. "
— Mike, 9/13/2013" A must read for any true Zombie fan. "
— Amy, 8/30/2013" I am so gonna die if the zombie apocalypse comes. "

— Rick, 12/19/2012" It was very informational and easy to remember. It had wonderful descriptions and I could really tell that the writer had put a lot of research and thought into this peace. It was a bit humorous and that made it all the more fun to read. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. "

— Alexander, 5/22/2011" Most of the stuff in the book is common sense. The part where Max Brooks enumerated the weapons felt like he was just adding filler. I guess my expectations were unwarranted. It does say 'guide' on the cover. "
— William, 5/19/2011" Es un manual... y quedas con la sensación de que DEBES ir a comprar ese machete... sólo por si acaso... "
— Speedy, 5/19/2011" I met Max Brooks, and he's a dick... but he puts a lot of thought into what would REALLY happen in a zombie apocalypse, and entertaining reading trumps dickitude almost every time. "
— Comedian999, 5/18/2011" This is an indispensible guide to survival in the coming apocalypse. Read it, learn it, and be ready, or else you will be consumed like all the rest. "

— Danimau, 5/14/2011" Great book! A must have for every person who yearns to learn more about the undead. "
— Ashley, 5/7/2011" Starts off really engaging and humorous. But, then quickly trails off and becomes mundane. Good book, however, I have found myself only reading to finish the book on principle. Already looking for something else to read........ "
— Jonathan, 5/5/2011" Make sure you're prepared. This guide is a must read to survive the coming zombie horde. And waiting til you see a zombie just won't cut it. Prepare now. Entertaining read as you're instructed in all seriousness how to survive. "
