Book two in an epic historical fantasy series that blurs the lines between this world and the Otherworld.
“Before Albion is one, the hero feat must be performed and Silver Hand must reign.”
The great king, Meldryn Mawr, is dead, and his kingdom lies in ruins. Treachery and brutality rule the land, and Albion is the scene of an epic struggle for the throne.
Lewis is now known as Llew in this Otherworld, and he has become a threat to the usurper Meldron. Exiled and driven from the clan, he must seek the meaning behind a mysterious prophecy—the making of a true king and the revealing of a long-awaited champion: Silver Hand.
First published more than twenty years ago, The Song of Albion Trilogy has become a modern classic that continues to attract passionate new readers. Enter into The Silver Hand and experience the dazzling brilliance of a world like ours—yet infinitely bolder and brighter: a place of kings and warriors, bards and battles, feats of glory and honour. It is a place you will forever wish to be. It is Albion.

"I have read almost everything Lawhead has written and this is one of my top 5 favorite books, period. If you are familiar with his writing style, his triolgies and sequels almost always change narrators with each book so you come to expect it. And I feel with each of his trilogies...the first book is good, the second is excellent, and the third book is awful. Being a big Celtic fan myself I love the history that is brought into this series, but the story of the underdog hero is always a winner!"

" Best book in the series. I think this book affected me emotionally more than any other fiction in a very long time! Takes a while to get in to the series but it's totally worth it! "
— Brian, 2/6/2014" "The Silver Hand" is probably my favorite of the 'Song of Albion' trilogy. This book resides in the upper echelon of my all time favorites. I read it at least once a year. "
— Collin, 2/5/2014" Rather slow. I didn't care for the change in narrater, because I thought Llew would be much more interesting than the bard, who never seemed to have any inner conflict or anything. This book is nothing special. And I still have the same issues with this as with the last one (People forgetting the world needs to be saved, and Simon) "
— Tori, 1/31/2014" The continuing adventure of Lewis through the eyes of the bard. "
— Paul, 1/29/2014" once again still reading.... ROFL y shud i write a review on a book i havent finished??? LMAOOOOOOOOOO "
— Jonah, 1/19/2014" It was interesting that he switched narrators between the first and second books. Again, I didn't like the main characters as much as I usually would like to like the main characters, but I liked one of the friends of the protagonist. "
— benebean, 1/18/2014" Tegrid as the new narrating voice is a good choice. Is Simeon really dead? "
— Judy, 1/7/2014" I read this on my honeymoon...it's engaging and interesting, especially since Lawhead is obviously well-versed in Celtic and medieval traditions. "
— Rachel, 1/5/2014" Extraordinary, pure brilliance, a masterpiece, seldom can the art of words move me to such emotion "
— Jonathan, 12/17/2013" The second book in Lawhead's best series. Must reading for fantasy fans. "
— Adam, 12/1/2013" Lawhead does a great job of evoking anger and frustration throughout the book - kind of a stressful read until the very end, which although good, had potential to be better. "
— Melina, 12/1/2013" Major step down from the first novel "
— Scott, 7/23/2013" Second in a trilogy...I'm really enjoying this set. I like the "doors between worlds" aspect, and the fusion of modern corruption and its influence on Celtic mythology. "
— Brucie, 6/10/2013" This series isn't as good as some of his other books, but I liked this one a bit better than the first. If nothing else, it's an entertaining story. "
— Macy, 4/2/2013" Not quite finished with it yet, but the characters from the first book made me like this one right away. Author is interested in exploring the concept of sovreignty rather than trailblazing into new SciFi-land, which is nice. Still very Celtic. "
— Karen, 2/12/2013" The Albion Series is amazing. My favorite books so far! "
— Mary, 1/22/2013" Fanstic fiction, especially for those interesting in Celtic myth and legend. "
— Jared, 12/25/2012" This was a good continuation of the story set in motion in the first book. This book has some unexpected twist and turns as well a some expected endings. I look forward to book three. "
— Martin, 9/21/2012" I didn't actually manage to finish this one - just couldn't get into it and the style of writing got a bit tedious for me. Everything was either extremely wonderful or extremely miserable. "
— Cynthia, 6/16/2012" It's been years since I read this, but it's every bit as good as I remember. A cracking story and continuation of Lewis' time in the 'Otherworld'. Bubbling over with Celtic tradition, language and history this book is a magical adventure. "
— Rob, 3/23/2012" Loved all three books - I became so attached to the characters and felt the entire journey as if it were my own. "
— Stephanie, 2/29/2012" After reading all 3 books in this trilogy, I've decided that they were a waste of my time. Based on how the last book ended, it makes the second book pointless. "
— Terri, 1/7/2012" I just got the third one and I am sure it will be worth the time. Very good imagery and character building. "
— Eric, 3/27/2011" It takes only a few to change the course of history. "
— Anita, 3/5/2011" Not quite finished with it yet, but the characters from the first book made me like this one right away. Author is interested in exploring the concept of sovreignty rather than trailblazing into new SciFi-land, which is nice. Still very Celtic. "
— Karen, 2/24/2011" The continuing adventure of Lewis through the eyes of the bard. "
— Paul, 12/12/2010" This is turning into quite an exciting series! This one had a lot of darkness and dispair, but the ending was climatic and victorious. Looking forward to the final in the series. "
— Janet, 12/4/2010" Favorite Author, favorite series, what else is there "
— Kristen, 7/21/2010" Best book read in years. Looking forward to the final book. "
— JD, 7/17/2010" Book 2 of the Song of Albion. The main character goes back to Albion to try to prevent another person from destroying it. "
