"The more I read by Mary the more I like her. This story kept me guessing. I thought I figured out the killer, but then another detail would be revealed and I wasn't so sure. Once one mystery was solved, I still wasn't sure what was going to happen. I would have expected a little more sexual tension between Lara and Beck, but it was still well balanced. Well worth the read."

“Burton’s crisp storytelling, solid pacing, and well-developed plot will draw you in, and the strong suspense will keep you hooked and make this story hard to put down.”
— RT Book Reviews (4 stars)Bestseller Burton (Before She Dies) delivers action-packed tension as a cold case becomes new again . . . a compelling romantic thriller.
— Publishers Weekly" 3.75 stars. Well-written suspenseful thriller with nicely developed characters, story, and plot twists. Some dark and disturbing content, but not overwhelming. The romance was secondary to the suspense, but also nicely integrated into the story. "
— Lacy, 2/19/2014" 3.5 stars. A good thriller with a chilling premise ... the serial killer who won't let go. The writing is good, and the main character is very sympathetic and admirable in her desperation and courage, while the male lead is strong, smart and very alpha. My main complaint is a twist at the very end ... it wasn't necessary, and it almost ruined the book for me. "
— D.B., 1/26/2014" This was agreat book! Well written & an edge-of-your-seat thriller. Loved it. Love Mary Burton! Can't wait to read more. "
— Jenny, 1/26/2014" Yikes!!! Creepy page turner. Best I've read in a while. "
— Briga, 1/19/2014" From what I read in the Advance Uncorrected Proof, a reader is in for a read of their lives!!!! My first for Mary Burton, but not my last. The actual PB is now out. What ever changes made, enjoy!!! "
— L.D., 1/18/2014" Medium grade serial killer suspense. It doesn't qualify as romantic suspense since there's no romance until the very end -- and its weak. Narrator Johanna Parker makes it sound a lot better than it actually is. "
— Diana, 12/24/2013" This was a fantastic book with a great storyline that kept me hooked from start to finish. My only criticism is that it was a bit too easy to work out who the bad guys were. "
— Paula, 12/21/2013" This was another superb who done it? Love it very much. "
— Sherry, 12/20/2013" Great writing with a very surprising ending! I was like...WOW! Glad I read it. "
— Chastity, 9/18/2013" Good though I had figured out who the Real Strangler was early on. "
— Susan, 9/5/2013" Got the arc and really enjoyed the book. "
— Bree, 7/14/2013" Fantastic story line but with a twist that leaves you gasping "
— Patricia, 6/1/2013" This book was dull. D-U-L-L. The prose was lifeless, the plot was thin, and the "twist" ending was incredibly obvious. It wasn't a terrible book, but it seemed amateurish and I'm surprised that the author has written over a dozen books. "
— Hannah, 3/25/2013" Ive found a new author to read. Good fast paced. Lara. survived an attempt on her life with no memory of her attacker. Now seven years later the killings are starting again. Can she remember and help find the killer? "
