The Metamorphosis (German: Die Verwandlung) is a novella written by Franz Kafka which was first published in 1915. One of Kafka's best-known works, The Metamorphosis tells the story of salesman Gregor Samsa who wakes one morning to find himself inexplicably transformed into a huge insect (German ungeheures Ungeziefer, literally "monstrous vermin"), subsequently struggling to adjust to this new condition. The novella has been widely discussed among literary critics, with differing interpretations being offered.
رمان «مسخ» اثر نویسندهی نامدار ادبیات آلمانی، «فرانتس کافکا» و یکی از نام آشناترین آثار او است. این رمان که نخستینبار در سال 1915 منتشر شد، داستان تاجری به نام گرگور سامسا است که یک روز، بههنگام برخاستن از خواب، متوجه میشود که به یک حشرهی بزرگ تبدیل شده است.

About Franz Kafka
Franz Kafka (1883–1924), one of the major fiction writers of the twentieth century, was born to a middle-class German-speaking Jewish family in Prague. His unique body of writing, much of which is incomplete and was mainly published posthumously, is considered by some people to be among the most influential in Western literature, inspiring such writers as Albert Camus, Rex Warner, and Samuel Beckett.
