The Only Economics Book You Will Ever Need. Economics isn't just about numbers: It's about politics, psychology, history, and so much more. We are all economists-when we work, save for the future, invest, pay taxes, and buy our groceries. Yet many of us feel lost when the subject arises. Award-winning professor Timothy Taylor tackles all the key questions and hot topics of both microeconomics and macroeconomics, including: * Why do budget deficits matter? * What exactly does the Federal Reserve do? * Does globalization take jobs away from American workers? * Why is health insurance so costly? The Instant Economist offers the knowledge and sophistication to understand the issues- so you can understand and discuss economics on a personal, national, and global level.

"I LOVE Timothy Taylor's lectures. The book is an amazing "encyclopedia" out of these lectures. But the lectures are much more fun frankly (even though it'll take longer to listen to all instead of just flipping through the book)."

" This was not an easy read. However it was very informative. It's a book that someone can go back to several times. It teaches you about the federal reserve, the cost of health insurance and how even groceries can affect our own Economic future. It is a book that everyone should read. "
— Heather, 7/10/2013" Great read, to the point. "
— Victor, 4/28/2013" Fine basic overview of many economic subjects. Nothing more than a primer though. "
— Mark, 4/2/2013" I feel like I could walk into a college class and actually know what I'm talking about. It should be a requeired read for everyone. "
— Marissa, 12/9/2012" Not as snarky and entertaining as "Naked Economics," but covers some areas that "Naked Economics" doesn't. I recommend reading "Naked Economics" first, then expand your knowledge base with this book. "
— Beth, 11/16/2012" Great book. Dr. Taylor is a great teacher. "
— Randy, 11/12/2012" Written in a simple, straight-forward manner that the average person can understand. Chapters aren't very long and well titled so if, for example, you want to read about exchange rates or supply and demand then you can turn to the chapters titled Exchange Rates or Supply and Demand. "
— Michael, 11/2/2012" This is one of the most interesting and enjoyable economic books I have ever read. "
