What Josh thought would be the dullest summer of his life, spent with his eccentric aunt, turns chilling when he meets the ghost of a coal miner killed in a mine explosion. Willie has been waiting years for some kind soul to dig up his leg and rebury it with the rest of him—only then will he be at peace. Josh agrees to do the grisly deed, but when he digs in the old cemetery, he finds more than Willie's leg bones. Who buried the box of cash in the grave, and why? How far will that person go to get the money back?
The Ghost's Grave is a deliciously spooky and masterfully suspenseful adventure from Peg Kehret.

"I just finished The Ghost's Grave by Peg Kehret. I think it is a good book because it is exciting and funny. It is about a boy named Josh who goes to his aunts house for the summer. His aunt has a tree house. He soon finds out the tree house is haunted by a coal miner ghost named Willie. Willie had lost his leg.His leg was buried at the cemetery but his body is buried at his favorite fishing spot. Willie asks Josh to move his leg bones from the cemetery to where the rest of him is buried but the question is will Josh do it? I would give this book 5 stars because it was exciting and attention grabbing."

" Josh thinks he'll be spending the most boring summer with his crazy aunt, but then he meets a ghost who was killed in a mining accident. "

— Nicole, 1/30/2014" The ghosts grave was a really wonderfull book in which a boy named Josh spends his summer with his Great Aunt Esther when he happens across a ghost named Willy in an old tree house his Aunt used to play in, and things take off from there. I don't want to spoil the end so check this book out of the library and start reading! "
— Capecodkid, 1/26/2014" Good book!! Very suspensuful in many ways!!! There are many things that could be true in this book such as; when he was dead tired after the bike ride and the walk, and when somone breaks their ankle. And some unrealistic things such as; Willie and the hat!!!! "
— Bballer12, 1/19/2014" I like Peg Kehret, but I had forgotten that her books are geared toward younger kids. The premise wasn't realistic and it wasn't the least bit scary, but it was fairly entertaining. "
— Kristi, 1/17/2014" This book was amazing!! I love Peg Khert she is such a good author and i enjoy all of the mysteries she writes!Everyone of my friends should read this book! "

— Katie, 12/23/2013" This is a fairly short chapter book that would be great for a boy to read, grades 4 and up. Although it is about a boy who meets a ghost, it isn't terribly scary, but has plenty of suspense. It is one of the 2008-09 Young Hoosier nominees. "
— Beth, 10/12/2013" This one is really cool to me. It was for a book report when I read it, and it's pretty cool! "
— Ray, 6/28/2013" I really enjoyed this book. I have recently read another book by this author and enjoyed that one also (Abducted). It is a good story line and it is engaging. I think children will love the suspense as much as I did. "
— Margie, 4/30/2013" Kinda weird but adventurous. "
— Tiffany, 4/21/2013" This was a good little ghost story for middle school kids. Not my thing but an easy read and I will be recommending it to my kids who ask for a good "ghost story". "
— Patty, 4/20/2013" Fun read targeted for a younger audience. I picked this up in the children's section, but was not disappointed! The main character is a fun, smart, compassionate boy who meets up with a ghost who just wants his leg buried with the rest of him. Recommend! "
— Mel, 3/24/2013" Just when I said I was finished with Battle Books this little gem came along. I loved the story, thought it was very cute but a little creepy in parts. A nice non-scary ghost story. "
— Tina, 3/21/2013" this book is really awsome even though i am only on the 3ed Chapter "
— Ella, 2/16/2013" Eh... it was ok. Not that interesting. Wasn't very scary. Kind of stupid. "
— Camryn, 1/8/2013" The Ghosts Grave is a really good book, it was one of the three books I was reading last night and once I picked it up, I could hardly put it down. The beginnings not that great but it gets MUCH better in the middle. This book is short, but I highly suggest it to everyone. "
— Grace, 6/22/2012" Josh has plans for the summer however they do not include going to stay with his crazy aunt Ethal. One day Josh finds a ghost, can it be... "

— Beccala:), 2/25/2011" The Ghost's Grave is a very good book about a boy named Josh. He has to go to his great aunt Ethel's house. She lives in Carbon City. One strange day Josh goes out to the treehouse to read. The next day the book is in a different place from where he put it. "
— Brock, 1/18/2011" This was a fun children's book, not too scary but a few moments of tension.good for ages 7-10. "
— Nicole, 10/21/2010" The voice is all wrong. The protagonist is a 12 year old boy, but he often reads like a grown woman. Probably because a grown woman wrote the novel and didn't really capture his voice very well. I lost interest toward the end and just forced myself to finish it. "
