"Salvatore begins this story with a prologue, one of which has never been read before. He explains how he must descend to a dark place to write this novel much like he did for another saga he wrote. This novel tells of the beginning threads of the Spellplague. The companions return to Cadderly and assist him in his struggles. Another tragic end haunts the end of this book leaving an empty feeling with the reader. This is such an emotional book for both the characters and the reader but it is without a doubt one of the best novels of his career."

" This latest trilogy of books regarding Forgotten Realms and Drizzt Do'urden is a lot darker than some of the others for the remaining members of the group. A surprising ending for sure. I love the books and RA Salvatore does a great job in keeping the novels fresh and exciting. "

" This book actually really surprised me. Set during the Forgotten Realms 3.5E to 4E transition event of the Spellplague, a number of significant changes occur. It also ties back to much earlier villains in an interesting way, and forms an amusing alliance between four unlikely characters. "

" As far as charecters go...this is a big one. Reflecting back on now a few days....I really enjoyed it and all that happened. If I were to rate it right after I read the last page...I would have gone w/ 4 stars. "

" While well written, this book didn't really feel like it was particularly going anywhere until the very end. It's sort of back heavy. And really, really back heavy. Things happen in the last 50 pages that will seriously affect any future Forgotten Realms novels that Salvatore writes. So if you start reading this, please be sure to read the whole thing. "

" A surprisingly strong ending to what has been a bit of a lackluster series, The Ghost King may actually lead to character growth and change (assuming Salvatore continues the long running series). "

" Its hard to talk about this book without spoiling it. I would like for this to be the end of the series that has been going for about 20 years. But I think it left enough open story possibilities to continue on. I think it is losing a little bit with each novel and each trilogy. "

" Generally better than the last two, but there was some weirdness around the Ghost King title (not the book title but the entity named the Ghost King). It was never clear what the Ghost King was or what it was the king of, which made the ending confusing. "
