A mysterious incident in Russia, a blip buried in the news, it’s the only warning humanity receives that civilization will soon be destroyed by a single, voracious virus that creates monsters of men.

A lawyer, still grieving over the death of his young wife, begins to write as a form of therapy. But he never expected his anonymous blog would ultimately record humanity’s last days.

Governments scramble to stop the zombie virus, people panic, so-called “safe havens” are established, the world erupts into chaos; soon it’s every man, woman, and child for themselves. Armed only with makeshift weapons and the will to live, a lone survivor will give mankind one last chance

  • 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Russ Walicki | 2/13/2014

" Fast read. Well written. Enjoyed it a bunch. No literary gold but great for the genre. "

  • 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Bluefly | 2/9/2014

" Romanzo scritto in modo brillante e con una trama semplice ma capace di catturare l'interesse del lettore fino alla fine. Un autore rivelazione "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Linda | 1/19/2014

" In all my years of reading I think this is my first zombie book and I enjoyed it. It was very graphic and violent - if you can stand that I recommend it. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 David Fox | 1/18/2014

" Totally engrossing, especially in the beginning. But, either something is lost in translation or Loureiro is simply not that good of a writer and after a while the poor quality of the prose eats away at you. If you're looking for an easy, mindless read, jump right in. If you want something that compares to World War Z, don't waste your time. Unfortunately, I want to keep reading. I was under the impression that it was a one-and-done book, but it's a series which sucks. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Ivonne | 1/9/2014

" This is the closest thing to future history if a Z apocalypse did occur. The moments that mark the main characters success are enveloped in luck and instinct. Weapons and firepower will not win this type of war. "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Edna Barrett | 1/7/2014

" It was the most realistic zombie book I've read (I haven't read many, but I can imagine). It was very intriguing and suspenseful at times, but then all was ruined in the last paragraph of the book. Literally, the last paragraph. Still 3 out of 5 though, for the rest of the 396.75 pages. "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Breezed | 1/6/2014

" Not amazing but for a quick, general zombie read, it was decent. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Greg T Robertson | 12/30/2013

" After the first few "chapters" the action picks up and this book turns awesome. Great easy and fun read. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Caia Cameron | 12/8/2013

" great z fiction. fast read. funny and enthralling. "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Kyle | 12/7/2013

" Eh, it was enjoyable but pretty repetitive. There were times the author went into too much detail about non-important pieces. I would recommend it to anyone that likes zombie-related things (although that would be my only recommendation). "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Paul Sp | 9/22/2013

" A blog account of a zombie infestation. Originally in Spanish but recently translated. A good read for the genre if you enjoyed world war z then this should satisfy. "

  • 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Julie | 9/8/2013

" All I can say is wow! I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and couldn't believe I had reached the end. I loved that the main character took care of his cat while the world was falling around him. I highly recommend this novel for anyone who likes "The Walking Dead". "

  • 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Kendra | 7/15/2013

" This book was so, so, so good! Exciting, exhilarating, terrifying, horrifying, heart and gut wrenching; it left me wanting more! I cant wait for the other two books to be published in English! "

  • 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Tamalyn | 6/28/2013

  • 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Marguerite | 5/22/2013

" This book was awesome! I found it in a totally rushed search for something dystopian to read while my son was in his parkour class. Zombies? Sure... I love The Walking Dead (tv series), I'll give it a shot. I started reading it in the car while I waited and couldn't put it down! "

  • 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Tiffany Desiree | 5/4/2013

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Brian Hansford | 1/31/2013

" Suspenseful, fun, heroic. I greatly enjoyed the setting in Spain. The journal style approach was fun. Would you be able to survive? "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Brent Gottshall | 1/26/2013

" I think the blog/journal writing style of the novel really added something to the book. I was somewhat disappointed in the ending, but it was a good page turner and well paced. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Angela Verdenius | 1/12/2013

" Loved this book. Seriously, how can you not love a character who refused to leave his cat behind and takes him everywhere - through zombie hordes, wild car rides, boat rides - you name it, he took his cat. Also a good story, good zombies, nice twist, can't wait for the next book. "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Land Murphy | 12/31/2012

" In a genre with loads of really awful writing, this one is passable. Always nice to sneak a zombie book in for a quick read. "

  • 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Terri | 12/27/2012

" I honestly was surprised that I liked this book so much. I'm not so much into the "dead people walking" and/or zombie kind of thing, but this book was written very well and I finished it within 2 days because I couldn't put it down! "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Joy Ramlogan | 11/28/2012

" loved this "diary" of the pandemic sweeping from Russia to the world, told from a lawyer's blog then journal. As the zombies rise and darkness sweeps Spain, you get such an immediate feel of the post apocalypse world and how ordinary life is so extraordinarily fragile. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Johnny Daryanani | 11/15/2012

" Great read... Any fan of The Walking Dead would gravitate towards this book! "
