"Totally engrossing, especially in the beginning. But, either something is lost in translation or Loureiro is simply not that good of a writer and after a while the poor quality of the prose eats away at you. If you're looking for an easy, mindless read, jump right in. If you want something that compares to World War Z, don't waste your time. Unfortunately, I want to keep reading. I was under the impression that it was a one-and-done book, but it's a series which sucks."
— David (4 out of 5 stars)
" Fast read. Well written. Enjoyed it a bunch. No literary gold but great for the genre. "
— Russ, 2/13/2014" Romanzo scritto in modo brillante e con una trama semplice ma capace di catturare l'interesse del lettore fino alla fine. Un autore rivelazione "
— Bluefly, 2/9/2014" In all my years of reading I think this is my first zombie book and I enjoyed it. It was very graphic and violent - if you can stand that I recommend it. "
— Linda, 1/19/2014" This is the closest thing to future history if a Z apocalypse did occur. The moments that mark the main characters success are enveloped in luck and instinct. Weapons and firepower will not win this type of war. "
— Ivonne, 1/9/2014" It was the most realistic zombie book I've read (I haven't read many, but I can imagine). It was very intriguing and suspenseful at times, but then all was ruined in the last paragraph of the book. Literally, the last paragraph. Still 3 out of 5 though, for the rest of the 396.75 pages. "
— Edna, 1/7/2014" Not amazing but for a quick, general zombie read, it was decent. "
— Breezed, 1/6/2014" After the first few "chapters" the action picks up and this book turns awesome. Great easy and fun read. "
— Greg, 12/30/2013" great z fiction. fast read. funny and enthralling. "
— Caia, 12/8/2013" Eh, it was enjoyable but pretty repetitive. There were times the author went into too much detail about non-important pieces. I would recommend it to anyone that likes zombie-related things (although that would be my only recommendation). "
— Kyle, 12/7/2013" A blog account of a zombie infestation. Originally in Spanish but recently translated. A good read for the genre if you enjoyed world war z then this should satisfy. "
— Paul, 9/22/2013" All I can say is wow! I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and couldn't believe I had reached the end. I loved that the main character took care of his cat while the world was falling around him. I highly recommend this novel for anyone who likes "The Walking Dead". "
— Julie, 9/8/2013" This book was so, so, so good! Exciting, exhilarating, terrifying, horrifying, heart and gut wrenching; it left me wanting more! I cant wait for the other two books to be published in English! "
— Kendra, 7/15/2013" great book, fast paced, i read it in one night as i couldnt put it down! great zombie book it thats the genre you like. i also loved the fact it was based in spain. "
— Tamalyn, 6/28/2013" This book was awesome! I found it in a totally rushed search for something dystopian to read while my son was in his parkour class. Zombies? Sure... I love The Walking Dead (tv series), I'll give it a shot. I started reading it in the car while I waited and couldn't put it down! "
— Marguerite, 5/22/2013" Absolutely great read! Want so bad for them to bring the rest to english speaking readers!! "
— Tiffany, 5/4/2013" Suspenseful, fun, heroic. I greatly enjoyed the setting in Spain. The journal style approach was fun. Would you be able to survive? "
— Brian, 1/31/2013" I think the blog/journal writing style of the novel really added something to the book. I was somewhat disappointed in the ending, but it was a good page turner and well paced. "
— Brent, 1/26/2013" Loved this book. Seriously, how can you not love a character who refused to leave his cat behind and takes him everywhere - through zombie hordes, wild car rides, boat rides - you name it, he took his cat. Also a good story, good zombies, nice twist, can't wait for the next book. "
— Angela, 1/12/2013" In a genre with loads of really awful writing, this one is passable. Always nice to sneak a zombie book in for a quick read. "
— Land, 12/31/2012" I honestly was surprised that I liked this book so much. I'm not so much into the "dead people walking" and/or zombie kind of thing, but this book was written very well and I finished it within 2 days because I couldn't put it down! "
— Terri, 12/27/2012" loved this "diary" of the pandemic sweeping from Russia to the world, told from a lawyer's blog then journal. As the zombies rise and darkness sweeps Spain, you get such an immediate feel of the post apocalypse world and how ordinary life is so extraordinarily fragile. "
— Joy, 11/28/2012" Great read... Any fan of The Walking Dead would gravitate towards this book! "
