Pat Buchanan's latest polemic—and his first since Obama's election—exposes the risks America faces today and what those dangers will mean for the country's future Since Obama took office, conservative pundits have been mainstays on the bestseller list. And now, the bestselling author and political legend Pat Buchanan weighs in with a warning against not only the dangers that the country faces under Obama, but the risk of sliding into irrelevancy that the Republican party faces if it chooses to forget its core values. As he shows in Suicide of a Superpower, liberal policy-making and unhindered globalization have eroded America's economic strength. Changing demographics and declining faith portend a future in which the Republican Party and Christianity will become irrelevant. If things continue unchanged, Buchanan warns, in a few short decades our country will be unrecognizable. But, there are alternatives. And Buchanan finds signs of hope for conservatives and outlines plans for a very different future that the newly ascendant Republicans and Tea Partiers can use in Congress and nationwide. A major force in conservative opinion and a longtime political commentator, Buchanan's strident and impassioned argument against the direction in which America is heading will find an eager audience in today's high-pressure political climate.

"One of the best analysis of the current state of the nation going into depth of what caused this mess, with a look at the future. I had this on audio but I loved it so much I had to buy it in print and read it again. I'm proud I voted for Pat Buchanan when he was running for President and it's a real shame that the Republican party has been hijacked by the Bush family, Cheney, and the Karl Rove neo-cons who are just as bad as the liberal quasi-socialist Democrats. This book should be required reading. Little trivia: believe it or not, Pat Buchanan and Marilyn Manson are cousins lol."

The atmosphere in this recording is, as you may expect, dark, grim, apocalyptic.
— Alternative Right" I read yesterday that MSNBC is considering banishing Buchanan, again, for publishing this book. Interesting tactic for a "news" outlet. The idea that certain ideas "approved" by the left cannot be suppressed, while other, disfavored ideas, cannot be permitted, is one of the points Buchanan quite eloquently makes in this exhaustively researched and exceedingly well written tome. "
— Bob, 2/8/2014" Partisan but well written and some very good points "
— Pasquale, 1/29/2014" One of the top three insightful writers about the psychology of a nation. Eye opener as to where this country is headed over the precipice. Krauthammer is one of the three also. George Wills is probably number 5 or 6. "
— Norbert, 1/18/2014" This book is so good Pat Buchanan recently got fired from MSNBC for writing it. I guess the politically correct police couldn't refute his arguments so they just blacklisted him from being heard. "
— Adam, 11/27/2013" I couldn't finish. Dry reading. "
— Michael, 11/20/2013" Buchanan is always an interesting read, though he doesn't quite have the knobs in all the right places. "
— Taylor, 11/19/2013" Pat lays out a pretty dire scenario of which he determines there is no escape. Birth rates are a key to the future he says is coming. "
— John, 7/19/2013" I quit at pg 130. Too depressing. Great job of fact finding and publishing stats on almost every page. Wonderful history showing the ebb and flow of Islam vs Chirstianity. "
— John, 3/8/2013" This book is a wake up call for America. Let's hope our leaders leverage Buchanan's suggestions and save our Republic. "
— Michael, 12/25/2012" A book everyone should read if they want to understand what is really happening to their Nation. A concise look at how America is destroying itself in ways that no foreign enemy could accomplish "
— Todd, 7/10/2012" This is unfortunately an accurate observation of the post-1960's United States culture in the eyes of a traditional conservative. "
