"This tells the story of the rise of a pop star one summer and how she deals with the fame and the death of her sister and the strain that caused on her family. This wasn't nearly as good as Gingerbread et al. but was fun. The ending was totally predictable but one I was rooting for anyway."

— Amanda, 1/10/2014" Book about a girl who gets a shot to be a popular singer, climbs to the top, then decides it's not for her--yet. Okay book. "
— Rene, 1/9/2014" Didn't realize the audiobook was abridged when I picked it up. Perhaps the novel itself wouldn't feel quite as rushed. "
— Alana, 1/4/2014" While I lost interest in this book after a while, I did like the ending. "
— David, 12/18/2013" Super cute teen novel. "
— Randa, 12/14/2013" Pop Princess was ok, but very very very cliched. "
— Kimberly, 12/7/2013" Not as good as the Gingerbread books, but still a good read. Actually, it was better than I expected it to be. Although the main character is in a highly unusual situation (not one your average teen would get into), this is still a great coming of age book. "
— Alissa, 12/2/2013" I absolutely hate this book. I mean, the ending just comes out of NOWHERE and everything you knew turns out to be a lie. Also, the writing is not very good. "
— Fernanda, 11/30/2013" I liked this. It's like if Britney had died early in her career, and then Jamie Lynn was discovered and groomed to be the next best thing. Predictable, but it had heart. "
— Alarra, 2/2/2013" Not bad, but seemed slightly pointless... "
— Helen, 1/6/2013" A cute teen American idol flick with a sweat main character and believable side stars, but if there is a sequel, i won't be picking it up. The most i can say is that i liked that the author showed pop culture the way it is, with drugs, sex, and sexual identity making a pointed appearance. "
— Sarah, 12/17/2012" predictable and a little pretentious. But man, I love rise-to-fame novels. "
— Lesley, 12/15/2012" it was good towards the beginning and ending. easy read to keep your mind off important things. "
— Rotem, 8/12/2012" This book gives you a pretty cool insight as to what teen pop stars might go through. It's a cool book, but not inspiring or empowering in any way. "
— Alisha, 6/13/2012" Amazing, only thing... I wish there was a book about Lucky. But that would be a different story. "
— Beth, 10/15/2011" Same author who wrote Gingerbread! I loved this. "
— Gab, 7/6/2011" it funny i love racchel chon "
— Cassidystraw, 5/6/2011" well written, great insides of the pop world. "
— XtîñÃ, 2/13/2011" Decent read! Don't be put off because it deals with pop music, this gives you an interesting viewpoint on Pop Princesses and what it takes to make it in the music industry. It's very strong on finding who you are, and doing things your way, but that comes later in the book. Good read. "
— Sandy, 12/18/2010" I absolutely love this book. It's totally cliched and superficial, but it has it's good parts, too. It's sometimes obscene, but I am so glad that I read it. "
— Leah, 11/24/2010" A cute teen American idol flick with a sweat main character and believable side stars, but if there is a sequel, i won't be picking it up. The most i can say is that i liked that the author showed pop culture the way it is, with drugs, sex, and sexual identity making a pointed appearance. "
