Author Kirk Douglas

Kirk Douglas has appeared in more than eighty films and was nominated for an Academy Award for Champion, The Bad and the Beautiful, and Lust for Life. Douglas received the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1981, a special Oscar in 1996, and the National Medal of the Arts in 2001. He is the author of three previous bestselling memoirs, three novels, and two children’s books.

About the Narrators

Michael Douglas has more than twenty years of experience in theatre, film and television. He has played pivotal roles in such films as Wall Street, for which he won an Academy Award®, The China Syndrome, Faral Attraction, Basic lnsfinct, The American President and Traffic. Also an accomplished film producer, he won the Academy Award® in 1975 for the film One Flew Oiler the Curkoo's Nest.

Michael Crichton (1942–2008) was a writer and filmmaker best known as the author of Jurassic Park and the creator of ER. He graduated summa cum laude from Harvard College, received his MD from Harvard Medical School, and was a postdoctoral fellow at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies. His first bestseller, The Andromeda Strain, was published while he was still a medical student. He later worked full time on film and writing. One of the most popular writers in the world, his books have been translated into thirty-six languages, and thirteen have been made into films.
