You can make a geek a model, but you can’t make her chic. Hilarity and high fashion await in the sequel to the bestselling Geek Girl!

Harriet Manners is now an international fashion icon—but at home, she feels even less popular and more awkward than she did before. So when the famous designer Yuka Ito offers her a summer modeling job in Japan, it sounds like the perfect vacation.

She may have to bring along her crazy, free-spirited grandma Bunty, and she may run into Nick, the gorgeous model boyfriend who dumped her two months ago. But no one is going to ruin Harriet’s fabulous Tokyo adventure—unless she accidentally ruins it herself.

Quotes & Awards

  • “Smale writes short, punchy chapters that keep the narrative and the comedy flowing constantly. Her highly individual characterizations add enormous zip to the book, but it’s Harriet’s geeky quips that give the book its life.”

About the Author

Holly Smale was unexpectedly spotted by a top London modeling agency at the age of fifteen and spent the following two years falling over on catwalks, going bright red, and breaking things she couldn’t afford to replace. By the time she had graduated from Bristol University with a BA in English literature and an MA in Shakespeare, she had given up modeling and set herself on the path to becoming a full-time writer. Her novel Geek Girl was the #1 bestselling young adult fiction title in the UK in 2013, and it was short-listed for several major awards, including the Roald Dahl Funny Prize. She currently lives in London, England.
