Publisher Description

What would happen if you started listening to your cravings instead of trying to silence them? If you’re tired of the same old messages of eat less and move more, this audiobook is what you’ve been missing. You know “how to” get healthy…but now there’s finally an audiobook to help you find your “want to” - the lasting emotional and spiritual motivation to meet your goals and stay healthy.

The reality is we were made to crave. Craving isn’t a bad thing. But we must realize God created us to crave more of him. Many of us have misplaced that craving by overindulging in physical pleasures instead of lasting spiritual satisfaction. New York Times best-selling author of It’s Not Supposed to Be This Way, Uninvited, and The Best Yes, Lysa TerKeurst, invites you to find the missing link between a woman’s desire to be healthy and the spiritual empowerment necessary to make that happen.

In this audiobook, Lysa will help you:

  • Break the cycle of “I’ll start again Monday” and feel good about yourself today.

  • Stop agonizing over numbers on the scale and make peace with your body.

  • Replace rationalizations that lead to failure with wisdom that leads to victory.

  • Reach your healthy goals and grow closer to God through the process.

This is not a how-to audiobook. This is not the latest and greatest dieting plan. This audiobook is the necessary companion for you to use alongside whatever healthy lifestyle plan you choose. This is an audiobook and Bible study to help you find the “want to” in making healthy lifestyle choices.

"This is a great book. Lysa talks to you like you're a friend, sharing with you her experience as God showed her what it means to deny yourself & sacrifice & draw near to Him. She really helps you to learn to deal with emotional eating & to go to God with your issues, instead of food. A lot more than that, too. At first I felt like she was a little overboard with some things, but she clarifies that later on. Good read & i know some of the things she said will stick with me & really help me out in the future."

" It took me six months to read this book. Although I really liked it -- and I want to go back and read parts of it again -- I just couldn't take it in big chunks. I would read a chapter and mull it over for quite a while -- but then often forget what I read. But I think Lysa TerKeurst really got it right. "

" I did the bible study series along with reading this book. Lysa explains this in such a great way & pulls scriptures out of the Bible that I have never really considered. It's not a book about weight loss, it a book about a spiritual journey & life change. Excellent! "

" I am part of an online bible study group with Proverbs31 Ministry and this was a topical book. While I'm not someone that really turns to food for comfort reading this book did show me where I could be better in filling my life with more God and less cravings. It was still a great resource of scripture and I took more away from this study than I had thought I would. "

" Good when applied to all areas. Sometimes I wonder why we are so hung up on food in American culture. Not all cultures expect their women to be thin. That's what I didn't like about the book- too much emphaisis on food as a measure of spirituality. "

" I don't know what I expected. It is very religious, sometimes overly so. But I like the basic idea. Instead of eating when you know you shouldn't, asking God or whatever higher power you're into for help and guidance. Its not shallow and yes, there are bigger problems out there. But stopping enough to think and pray is a big step to not eating that 3rd cookie. There are some good strategies here for coping with our food obsessed culture and our own lack of willpower. "
