For generations, Arienh’s people have feared the Viking raids. She knows all too well the terrible toll the Northmen have taken on the Celts, having lost most of her own family to their swords. So one stormy night when she encounters and wounds a Viking warrior, she has every right to want him dead. And yet she hesitates…
Ronan knows Arienh doesn’t recognize him. He was just a boy when his kinsmen raided her village and Ronan risked his own life to protect her. Now he has returned to claim the beautiful girl who captured his heart years before.
But wooing a Celtic woman is no easy task. And no one has a heart more guarded than Arienh, who has sacrificed her own happiness for the good of her village. She and Ronan are unlikely lovers, forged in dangerously opposite worlds—yet bound together by strength, sacrifice, and an undeniable passion.

"It is a good historical by Delle Jacobs. A story of trust, forgiveness and new beginning. The parts did not bore me in some way, as I tried reading it at one sitting. I'm like more on Birgit's story that Arienh. I'm more on romantica but this story is ok for me."

" Free book on amazon. The description of the book intrigued me but the story just didn't live up to it. The basis of the story was interesting but I felt it was buried in too many words and the pacing dragged out what could have been an entertaining and erotic period story. "
— Wendy, 2/10/2014" Great sweet story, well written but it goes on a bit. "
— Lisa, 1/13/2014" This book is not what it seems!Enjoy! "
— Marlene, 1/12/2014" This was a cute read. It was only 99 cents on my Kindle. Kind of hard to pass up. If you try to take it too seriously you'll probably be dissatisfied. It's quick, easy and fun. Not one to dissect or discuss in a book club. "
— Shelley, 1/3/2014" An easy, brainless read. "
— Katie, 1/3/2014" Really liked this. There were a couple points were the suspension of disbelief required was a little excessive, but the characters were compelling and the story was interesting and well-written. It's been added to my list of books to re-read. "
— Caitlin, 11/19/2013" It was ok. Very romancy. "
— moon.between.sun, 11/19/2013" A guilty bit of fun! "
— Suzanne, 11/18/2013" This was free on Kindle, and I really liked it!! It was an unusual plot, a celtic village of women and children, and kind Vikings (all men) settling down.. It was sweet, and a nice read, I enjoyed it. "
— Highland-dreamer, 10/30/2013" Ok. Vikings and Celtic women. Blind sister. Very stubborn main character. Paid $0 "
— Njoyn, 10/27/2013" I really enjoyed this for a light, romantic, cutesy read. Quick but well done. "
— Faye, 9/15/2013" not great. I found the heroine unlikeable and the story was very drawn out and annoying. "
— Beth, 9/3/2013" One of the best viking stories I've read! A page turner with a unique hook: Norsemen/Vikings as gentle settlers. Because the Norsemen were regarded as pillagers, what interesting conflict ensues! "
— Vonnie, 8/12/2013" This was an entertaining read, but stubborn heroines really gripe me, and this h was VERY stubborn! Good storyline, though. "
— Anna, 8/6/2013" it was ok. a little harlequin romancy "
— Pam, 6/9/2013" It was ok, but it dragged on and on until I finally gave up. "
— Robyn, 5/15/2013" Cute light romance set in early England. Battle of the sexes cast with Celts and Vikings. Free on Kindle. "
— Nancy, 4/24/2013" 2.5 stars? It's okay. Predictable, cute little romance. Nothing special. "
— Michelle, 3/1/2013" Absolutely refreshing take on the fluctuating powers in play in British Isles around the first millennium. "
