Plot Summary

The word "honeymoon" refers to a period of time that can range from a President's first month or so in office to a romantic getaway for a couple newly wed. In "Honeymoon" best-selling novelist James Patterson takes the term to a completely new level.

From the first chapter of the novel to the last page, this Patterson work is a cleverly crafted, quick-paced, magnetic dance between Nora Sinclair and whatever man she turns her attention to next. For Nora Sinclair is a serial killer, one who goes after carefully selected prey with large offshore bank accounts that surpass their big lives and even larger homes she so lavishly decorates for them.

"Come into my parlor," said the spider to the fly...

James Patterson fans expect a suspense-filled thriller that keeps them guessing. In "Honeymoon Audiobook," this is what his characters and their actions do. Fans must hang onto their seats. As the first sentence foretells, "Things aren't always what they appear," which is one thing FBI agent John O'Hara's father always taught him.

Patterson, according to Bookscan, has had five hardcover novels debut in the number one position each year since 2005. As of 2012, he has had 19 consecutive number one New York Times bestselling novels. In addition, he holds a Guinness World Record for the largest number of Hardcover Fiction best-selling titles by a single author.

A native of Newburgh, New York, Patterson spent his career prior to writing in the advertising field. Although he has written part-time throughout his life, he became a full-time writer after his retirement from advertising in 1985. Known best as a mystery and thriller writer, Patterson has also turned out romance novels, non-fiction works and books for children.

He has outsold authors such as Stephen King, Dan Brown and John Grisham -- combined. He resides in Briarcliff Manor, New York and Palm Beach, Florida and continues to deliver best-selling novels to the delight of fans all over the world.

Quotes

  • “Solid and enjoyable…Megaseller Patterson…again shows his usual flair for brisk narrative, strong suspense, and genuine twists…O’Hara and particularly Nora stand as two of Patterson’s most complex characters…Nearly impossible to stop reading…This is one canny thriller…Patterson’s millions of fans will be most pleased.”

    — Publishers Weekly
  • “Patterson and cowriter Roughan’s novel has all the trademarks of a Patterson-only thriller—short, suspenseful chapters; quick, punchy sentences; and a breakneck pace—and it delivers enough adrenaline that fans will likely forgive the novel’s occasional implausibility.”

    — Booklist
  • “What a honey of a story it is!…Honeymoon is sexy and scary.”

    — Associated Press
  • “Campbell Scott and Hope Davis share narrating duties, with each performing the gender-appropriate dialogue and point of view. The dual-duty format works well. Both performers bring skill and energy to the production, and their dialogues between same-sex characters sound as though still more readers are involved. The authors’ use of plot twists and red herrings continues to the end of the story, and that, combined with Campbell and Davis’ skill, keeps listeners on edge until the last word.”

    — AudioFile
  • “This story has elements of Hitchcock’s Vertigo, and its page-turning quality is in a class of its own.”

    — Independent
  • “With the irresistible attraction of the greatest Hitchcock thrillers, Honeymoon is a sizzling, twisting tale of a woman with a deadly appetite and the men who dare to fall for her. In his sexiest, scariest novel yet, James Patterson deftly confirms that he always ‘takes thrills to the next level.’”
