About Bill Stokes
Bill Stokes, born in Barron, Wisconsin, began his writing career as an outdoor writer for Stevens Point Daily Journal. He went on to write for many years at the Wisconsin State Journal, the Milwaukee Journal, and the Chicago Tribune before retiring to pursue freelance work. His work has appeared in many national publications, among them Reader’s Digest, Outdoor Life, and Sports Afield. He has compiled three anthologies of his newspaper writing and authored two children’s books.
About the Narrators
MacLeod Andrews is a multiple Audie, Earphones, and SOVAS award-winning and Grammy-nominated narrator with hundreds of credits to his name. David Stifel trained at the Yale School of Drama and has worked for such noted film directors as Steven Spielberg and Danny Boyle.Laurie Keller is the acclaimed author-illustrator of Do Unto Otters; Arnie, the Doughnut; and The Scrambled States of America, among numerous others. She grew up in Muskegon, Michigan, and always loved to draw, paint, and write stories. She earned a BFA at Kendall College of Art and Design, then worked at Hallmark as a greeting card illustrator for over seven years, until one night she got an idea for a children’s book. She quit her job, moved to New York City, and had soon published her first book. She loved living in New York, but she has now returned to her home state, where she lives in a little cottage in the woods on the shore of Lake Michigan.
