Centerburg is a small town somewhere in Middle America, but there is nothing ordinary about it. Something unusual is always going on. And you can be sure Homer Price is in the center of things, putting them right with his own brand of common sense. There's the time Uncle Hercules takes the Gravitty-Bitties challenge. He almost retires from his famous storytelling then and there except for Homer's quick thinking. And when Dulcy plants some valuable seeds he has just inherited, he puts the whole town - maybe even the whole country - at risk. But Homer's ingenious solution saves the day.

With this collection of hilarious tales, award-winning author Robert McCloskey takes an affectionate look at life in small-town America. Homer Price, a young man fazed by nothing, comes colorfully to life with John McDonough's animated performance.

" Adorably Funny, the tall-tale type that's almost believable! "

" This is the essence of homespun humor. Grandpa Hercules' stories are hilarious, as is the way they confound his listeners' sense of credulity. I don't wanna overthink it but this book is as good as any exploration of the way that stories can be true whether or not they really happened that way. "

" Not as good as "Homer Price", but then again, that's the case with a lot of sequels. "
