“Wit, passion, and adventure, Elizabeth Boyle has it all!”
—Julia Quinn
New York Times bestselling RITA® Award winner Elizabeth Boyle is a wonder, and with Along Came a Duke—the first book in her delectable Rhymes with Love series based on well-known nursery rhymes—she proves once more that no one writes wittier, more endearing and original historical romance. Returning once more to England during the colorful Regency Era, Boyle transports readers to the small town of Kempton, where a local curse prevents the female residents from wedding—a fact that cannot deter a plucky young heiress who needs to marry to inherit her fortune, as she strikes out for London to wed a rakish and unsuspecting duke. Funny, touching, and wonderfully sensuous, Along Came a Duke is a prime example of the exceptional romantic magic that puts Elizabeth Boyle in the same master class as Lisa Kleypas and Christina Dodd.

"I am so glad that I didn't stop reading this book. I was tempted to stop early on when I felt like the main characters were not very nice and the book was moving along a bit slow. Then, BOOK, the story took off, I started to fall for the characters and the story became a fun ride. I will read the next! Thank you Elizabeth Boyle!"

" Part of this book's appeal is that it read like a movie from the 1930s about the Regency period. "
— Barbi, 2/19/2014" This is a good sweet romance with strong Cinderella elements. Preston, as in Duke of Preston, and Tabitha, a vicar's daughter, meet accidentally in her small village. The attraction and slow build of the romance were well written as is the fun, fast paced dialog. There isn't anything new here - just a good historical romance. But I look forward to read the next two in the series featuring Tabitha's friends Daphne and Harriet. "
— Gina, 2/19/2014" I enjoyed this book, it was good read "
— Nicole, 2/12/2014" Really pretty awful. There is simply no plot at all. "
— Barbara, 2/7/2014" What a pair, the rapscallions Dukeand the feisty Tabby. And Mr muggins was a hoot. Enjoyed reading the book but at times I found it a little bit slow going. "
— Mary, 1/26/2014" Beginning was rough.... cute story want to read rest of the series "
— Kathy, 1/21/2014" enjoyed, can't wait until the 2nd in the series comes out. "
— Diane, 1/18/2014" I love Elizabeth Boyle's books..I really enjoyed this one. Loved the characters and the connections formed between them. Looking forward to more from this series. "
— Joni, 1/10/2014" This was a fun book with several laugh-at-loud scenes which I loved. It seems to be the beginning of a trilogy, and personally, I can't wait for the story of Harriet and Lord Roxley. (Note: since I listened to the audiobook I've no idea how to spell Roxley!) "
— Jennifer, 8/8/2013" I cannot wait for the next book in this series.....i loved reading this story..i loved Tabby and i just loved Preston...can't wait for Henry's story. "
— Leisa, 8/4/2013" I got this book at Kmart since it looked interesting and I actually liked it. It was easy to get into and I love Preston and Tabitha the whole time. "
— Toni, 7/28/2013" Review under construction - 4.5 stars, ya'll "
— Nisha, 7/10/2013" Couldn't really capture my attention but it was a good book nonetheless. "
— Clarissa-anne, 7/7/2013" As always, Elizabeth Boyle gives us a lovely Regency period romance with engaging characters. This was an enjoyable read. "
— Kirsten, 7/3/2013" Took a few chapters to get into it (oy, the Regency patter) but then it was all delighted giggles and cheerful insults to everyone's intelligence. Great way to completely neglect everything I meant to do this afternoon. "
— ishie, 6/14/2013" I loved this book, can't wait to read the others. I loved Tabitha Timmons, and the Duke of Preston, enjoyed the story very much and the characters were charming. Like this author. "
— Noelle, 6/7/2013" Not a huge fan of light-hearted Regency romps, but this read was just what I needed. Also, the tawny haired hero, the Duke of Preston, was wonderful. Leaned a little too close to farce at the end, but all in all, enjoyable though few scenes went on a little too long. Definitely recommend~ "
— Karyn, 5/30/2013" I really enjoyed this one. "
— Catherine, 5/13/2013" Slow plotline. I found it terribly difficult to like the characters. They were just... kind of bland. "
— Maria, 4/12/2013" It took them too long to get together, it drove me crazy. Otherwise great tale. Read in one sitting. "
— Maya, 11/22/2012" The plot was a kind of a madcap muddle. Also, a historical romance writer should know that "a bit of muslin" is used to describe prostitutes, not ladies. "
— Rachel, 11/1/2012" Very little chemistry between the barely likable characters. No steam at all. Very disappointing! "
— Claudia, 9/14/2012" Cute read and Preston is a doll. If you like Julie Quinn, you'll want to pick this one up. "
