Publisher Description
#1 New York Times bestselling author Christine Feehan explores the dark past of a woman on the run—and her dark desire for the only man she dares to trust—in this wild novel in the Leopard series.
With a staged death, a new identity, and a chance to flee the treachery that stalks her, Rachel has escaped from a faceless assassin. Now, thousands of miles from home, under the lush canopy of the rain forest, she’s found sanctuary.
But in this world teeming with unusual creatures walks the most exotic of them all. His name is Rio. A native of the forest imbued with a fierce prowess, he is something to be desired. Possessed of secrets of his own, he is something to be feared.
As Rachel’s past looms as oppressively as the heat of the forest, and Rio unleashes the secret animal instincts that course through his blood, Rachel fears that her isolated haven has become an inescapable hell. …

" I find many ebooks to fall into three categories. The novella... the novel... and the novel that should have been a novella (well, make it four categories & add in the novella that should have been expanded to a novel). Unfortunately, for me, Wild Rain was a novel that would have been better as a novella. When I find myself skimming pages & then going back to READ them, and realizing that by skimming I actually had missed ZIP of the plot, well, then I really wish I was reading a novella. The author has a fascination (rightly so) with the rainforest and its preservation; however, that prose tends to overwhelm the actual plot and I just kept wishing the author would get ON with it! The plot in its stripped down form was wonderful; however, I just couldn't get past the soliloquy to the rain forest. I enjoyed "The Awakening" in its novella length. Not sure if I'm going to continue on with this series or not since all the rest are novel length - and quite frankly, if the plotline continues to be that someone comes into the rain forest and realizes they are part of the decimated/endangered civilization I don't want a part of it. " Boring, predictable and not at all filled with a realistic view of the world. The settings are exotic but the writer contiues to have white characters in these locations. People there are not white, surely the writing can reflect that a bit more. "

" AMAZING! One of the best novels by Feehan, in my opinion. It starts out pretty slow, for the first 20 pages or so, but once it gets started! WHEW! Put out the fire! :D "

" I liked it, but it was slower paced than I have come to expect from this author. For the first several chapters, it just felt like time was crawling and I wanted to get to the heart of the book. "

" This story was ok. A true romance in every sense of the word, maybe a bit too much. Rio and Rachel are soul mates who find each other while Rachel is trying to escape her past. Not much more to say about it. "
