About the Authors
John A. McDougall, MD, (1947–2024) wrote many bestselling books with his wife, Mary. He was featured in the documentary and book Forks Over Knives. As a physician caring for individual patients, he also taught medical doctors and students at the McDougall Live-In Program in Santa Rosa, California. At the age of eighteen, he had a stroke, which led him to study medicine. He graduated from Michigan State University’s College of Human Medicine and performed his internship at The Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii, and his medical residency at the University of Hawai?i. He was also a member of the advisory board of the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine. In 2018, he was awarded the American College of Lifestyle Medicine Lifetime Achievement Award.
Mary McDougall has coauthored many bestselling books with her husband, John, including The McDougall Quick and Easy Cookbook.
