Here David Eddings continues his bestselling The Malloreon in this story of ancient, opposing Destinies battling for control of a world and for the fate of all Gods and men.
Troubles and delays continued to mount as Garion, Belgarath, Polgara, and the company pursued Zandramas across the known world. Possessed by the Dark Destiny, she had stolen Garion's infant son for a ritual that would destroy all that men valued.
She was always one step ahead, taunting and spying on them, flying over in the form of a great dragon. Her armies, led by a Demon Lord, threatened on one side; on the other were the forces of Emperor Zakath, seeking to capture them.
Somehow, as the Seeress of Kell had warned, they had to be at the Place Which Is No More for the ritual at the same time as Zandramas, or face disaster. But where that might be they still had no clue.

"I really enjoyed this book. I loved all the new characters and also getting to know the other characters better. By the end of this book though, I felt kind of annoyed. It just seemed to go on and on and on. But I really did enjoy this book from cover to cover. I couldn't stop reading!"
— Heidi (5 out of 5 stars)
" first read 2001 "
— Renee, 2/17/2014" Very good series of books. "
— Erik, 2/8/2014" the best of this series. good pacing, not too cutesy, and digressions are not distracting. "
— Heather, 1/23/2014" Some different things start to happen in this book, and garion deals with it how he knows how and gets out of bad situations, and continues on his journey to find his son, and the books continue to be good and keep you reading. "
— Amii, 1/13/2014" A really excellent epic fantasy series. I read these in high school and would love to some day reread the whole lot. "
— J.M., 1/2/2014" More tedious questing with some funny bits thrown in. Get on with it already! "
— Kate, 1/2/2014" The namesake of the book is rather strange...but that's probably because she's being taken over by a force not her own...and that's probably good, since she's a pretty nasty little woman. "
— Kari, 12/17/2013" An enjoyable read or re-read. "
— Devi, 9/24/2013" Rereading this series to my son. I still love the snappy dialogue and the world-building, but there's not enough tension in the plot for my tastes. "
— Nicole, 9/5/2013" Sorceress of Darshiva (The Malloreon, Book 4) by David Eddings (1990) "
— Laura, 8/4/2013" An amazing fantasy series of adventure and intrigue. This is my favorite series from David Eddings, although his other novels are also wonderful. I have read the whole series several times. "
— Hazel, 7/23/2013" This was my first Fantasy series that I really got into and I have re-read the series multiple times. If you love dialog in this style of writing, you will love this series! "
— Josh, 5/20/2013" For notes and review, see Guardians of the West (The Malloreon, Book 1). "
— Dr, 8/22/2012" I really like his series. Instead of doing like Robert Jordan, he does break up the ideas and create a beginning and end to the quests. Nicely done. "
— CD, 7/18/2012" Essentially a re-hash of The Belgariad but they did allude to the fact that everything would be repeated. "
— James, 1/27/2012" Better movement and flow of story in this book over any of the others in this series. Ultimately more engaging. "
— Marianne, 1/9/2012" A nice piece of escapist fantasy. (Book 4 of 5) "
— Amy, 12/16/2011" Yay for fantasy! :) "
— Jordan, 7/29/2011" As part of the series it fills in a few gaps, but the thing I find with the set of books is that they are good light reading "
— Hilary, 6/20/2011" Generic fantasy, but the author really defines each character and the dialogue is very engaging and funny. Whole series is good. "
— Carrie, 3/31/2011" A sequel series to The Belgariad. Not quite as good as The Belgariad, but almost. Still a very enjoyable read and I'm sure I'll also read this again. "
— melody, 2/23/2011" Not the best second volume I've ever read. I at least finished this, unlike the Tamuli. This was the beginning of my disappointment with Eddings, as I loved the Belgariad(s). "
— Ryan, 1/2/2011" David Eddings writes really long stories. It was fun to see some old characters return and meet some new ones as well. The ending fizzled. It took a long time to wrap up all the loose ends. The characters were pretty funny. Overall I liked the books. "
— Anita, 9/1/2010" While openly written as a formulaic fantasy, the author(s) [David later credited his wife, Leigh, as being a co-writer for the series] still manage to make a compelling tale filled with vivacious characters who are interesting to follow wherever they will take you. "
— Lori, 8/15/2010" This was an enjoyable read, but it does drag some. Not quite a good as his later novels. "
— Jenn, 6/4/2010" Great twists and turns throughout the books. Loved the characters. "
— Christopher, 4/10/2009" I don't regret picking up this series again (10 books and 7 weeks later). Eddings does a beautiful job creating characters and keeping them in focus throughout all 10 books. This is one of those that says with me so long that I can't pick up another book quite yet. "
— Linda, 1/14/2009" The continuing saga of Garion and his life. While not my favorite, THE MALLOREON is a fantastic series that if you've read THE BELGARIAD, you finish the series up by reading THE MALLOREON. "
— Kirsten, 12/12/2008" Really good series, really entertaining, just all around great. Silk is an AMAZING character! hehe "
— Fumphwoog,, 9/10/2008" Along with the BELGARARD (which is the series of prequels), the MALOREAN was one of my favorite fantasy stories growing up. I've re-read this series many times, and enjoy it immensely each time. "
— John, 7/27/2008" A continuation of my favorite fantasy series and I have read them multiple times. They move along quickly, but have the right amount of detail so that you can picture all of the characters involved. Great books! "
— Erin, 6/23/2008" All of the books in the Malloreon are easy, enjoyable reads. The good guys always win, the bad guys go home defeated, and the hero gets the girl in the end... "
— Wendy, 5/29/2008" Not nearly as good as the Belgariad, but it has it's highlites. "
— Mike, 2/28/2008" Great fantasy series, lots of humor. "
