Publisher Description
Dr. Elwin Ransom never expected a walk in the English countryside to lead to another world.
Abducted by two men with sinister plans, he is transported aboard a spaceship to Malacandra—an alien planet rich in beauty, mystery, and intelligence beyond human comprehension.
But as Ransom escapes his captors and discovers the planet’s peaceful inhabitants and cosmic order, he begins to realize that Earth—known in the heavens as the “silent planet”—is isolated for a reason. Faced with truths that challenge his deepest assumptions, Ransom must choose where his loyalty lies in a universe far grander and stranger than he ever imagined.
The first novel in C.S. Lewis’s acclaimed Space Trilogy, Out of the Silent Planet is a profound and thrilling journey through space, exploring humanity’s place in the cosmos, the nature of evil, and the possibility of redemption.
