About the Authors
Alan Ladd (1913–1964) was an award-winning American actor and film and television producer. He found cinematic success in the 1940s and 1950s, particularly in Westerns and film noir. He is especially known for his role in the movie Shane. His awards include a Picturegoer Award for Best Actor in 1947 for the movie This Gun for Hire, and in 1953 he was named Most Popular Male Star by Photoplay magazine. He contributed as an actor or producer in more than a hundred films and television shows over the course of his career.
John Baddeley is a British voice actor whose credits include many BBC radio productions, the narrator of the documentary The Death Train, and the voice of Winston Churchill in a 2003 PBS miniseries.
About the Narrators
Claudette Colbert (1903–1996) began her acting career in 1923 after landed a small role in the Broadway play The Wild Westcotts. While still starring in The Barker, she made her film debut in the silent movie For The Love of Mike (1927). In 1929 she made her first talking picture and thereafter worked solely on screen for more than twenty years. She returned to the stage in 1951.
Terence Edmond (1939-2009) was a British actor best known for his role as Ian Sweet in the 1960s television series Z Cars.
