“A perfect book for any kid who ever needed a friend and then had one with superpowers fall from space.” —Seth Meyers, actor, comedian and writer
Everyone’s favorite space boy—Hilo—is back! After Gina is sucked into a mysterious portal, Hilo and D.J. are on a rescue mission to save their friend and bring her back to Earth. But upon entering the new world of Oshun, where bizarre creatures and unfamiliar landscapes await, the boys soon discover that finding Gina and returning home will be harder than they realized. Faced with dangerous surprises at every turn and helped by their magical ally Polly the warrior cat, Team Hilo will have to battle a slew of bad guys, including reptilian warriors, giant hamster-like mounts, and one very angry mom, to make it back safely. That is, if the portal they entered stays open long enough!
Filled with laugh-out-loud text and the occasional space robot, this action-packed graphic novel series shows that no matter where you come from, kindness, friendship, and choosing your own path are the greatest superpowers of all.
