NATIONAL BESTSELLER • A deadly duel unfolds for “the first serial killer who unabashedly solicits our love” (Entertainment Weekly)—the character that inspired the latest Showtime hit series Dexter: Resurrection.
Dexter is displeased. Like any self-respecting, totally decent, soundly homicidal guy, Dexter Morgan takes great pride in his work and is careful to remain anonymous. So he is, naturally, upset to discover that someone has identified him and—worst of all—is now turning his own methods against him.
The situation soon becomes more complicated when a brutal cop-killer begins targeting Miami’s police detectives—leaving behind bodies that are battered beyond recognition—and stoking the department’s worst fears. As his colleagues grow more paranoid of the psychotic killer in their midst, Dexter’s position is increasingly perilous. He is running out of time to track down this copycat and deliver his usual special justice, before his dark hobby is revealed to the world.
Look for all of Jeff Lindsay’s deliciously twisted Dexter novels:

"Double Dexter is the 6. book of the Dexter series. Dexter seems sometimes a bit slow and scatterbrained in this episode and some parts are very similar to previous books, but if you liked the Dexter audiobooks – Jeff Lindsay as narrator is great - and the overdrawn characters like Rita or Brian, you definitely enjoy this one too. Can't wait for the next one."

RAVES FOR JEFF LINDSAY’S ORIGINAL DEXTER NOVELS
-
[A] macabre tour-de-force.
— New York Times Book Review -
Lindsay’s original, cockeyed view of the world is alive and well.
— Los Angeles Times -
Delicious and delightful might not be the best words to describe a serial killer. Unless, of course, we’re talking about the delectable Dexter Morgan. . . . Lindsay, the novelist, just keeps getting better.

Double Dexter Listener Reviews
-
" Another satisfying tale involving our favorite killer, Dexter. When someone sees him at his other "job", Dexter is almost outwitted! "
— Suzze, 2/19/2014 -
" Jeff Lindsay reads his own books on audio and he's excellent: droll, dark Dexter. Michael C. Hall gets it from him, not the other way around. The basic story was covered in a few episodes of a past season of the tv show, with changes: here, a stressed, misanthropic computer whiz accidentally sees Dexter indulging his "playtime," and breaks bad, which means Dexter has to kill him. The gems are his delivery of the characters Rita, Aster, and Cody, and the very funny asides about the brilliance of Lily Ann, his and Rita's baby girl, whom Dexter loves like no other. Not overlooked: Dexter directed his brother Brian (yes, still alive in the books, like Rita) to kill the computer guy, but Brian kills the wrong guy, someone whose identity was stolen by computer guy. This killing of an innocent goes almost unremarked-upon. "

" The first couple of these I though were pretty good. By the fourth they seemed a bit like Jaws sequels. This one most of all. Killer shark. Yikes. Not much clever or likeable here, but it moves quickly and easily. Not horrible, but not good either. "
— Motorcycle, 1/28/2014 -
" Fabulous as always!! I love Jeff Lindsay's voice as narrator. Dexter just keeps getting deeper and more complex, if that's even possible! Love this series!! "
— Brandy, 1/22/2014 -
" Excellent story -- a true nail biter right to the end!! I LOVE how Lindsay is keeping the books the books... While some influence is obvious from the show... I LOVE how this story line is original and exciting! "
— Mrs., 1/15/2014 -
" Dexter is seen at play and has to figure out who saw him. Dexter misses some obvious clues, which annoys me, but he's not a super-sleuth so I guess that's forgivable. "
— Jeanne, 1/4/2014 -
" First I was a big fan of the first two Dexters. This one I didn't even realize I read until I read the spoilers in a review. That just doesn't bode well for the future of Dexter on my reading list. "
— Smith, 12/31/2013 -
" Another delightful romp with Dexter. Double Dexter sees a return to Dexter's normal habits after Dexter is Delicious strayed a little from the formula. "
— Lauren, 12/18/2013 -
" The Dexter books are always entertaining and this one is no exception. "
— Laurie, 10/22/2013 -
" When did Rita turn into a blithering idiot? Daddy Dexter has lost his edge. "
— Buck, 10/16/2013 -
" This one took me awhile to get back into, but it was worth coming back to! "
— Kimberly, 10/8/2013 -
" I enjoyed this book much more than Jeff Lindsay's previous 2. "
— Bryan, 8/12/2013 -
" The story gets to be a little boring. Plus the ending was not so good. The parts with Brian are great though! -He really makes this book fun and memoriable for me. "
— Maureen, 7/16/2013 -
" Sometimes I wonder how long mr Lindsay can keep up the series. I enjoy the books greatly, and will always do so, but at times I think the storyline is just a little far fetched. Still fun. "
— Kat, 6/12/2013 -
" Dexter's adventures and frustrationas continue. Some interesting plot twists made this a good read. Family life dominates the story and is nicely intertwined with Dexter's secret life. "
— Wendy, 10/7/2012 -
" Not my favorite one, but still had me laughing out loud. "
— Angie, 8/2/2012 -
" This was the best one so far in the series. "
— Carrie, 7/12/2012 -
" This was maybe my favorite of the Dexter books. Good, interesting plot with a lot of different angles. "
— Mainon, 10/31/2011 -
" Oh Dexter, you're so damn hapless and helpless when it comes to human emotions and I love it. Although I'm not sure why Rita is so annoying this time. "
— Chantelle, 10/30/2011 -
" Dexter Morgan remains one of my all-time favorite fictional characters, and I really enjoyed this installment. "
— Susan, 10/27/2011 -
" Dexter is back. I enjoyed this one as much as I enjoyed the first two. "
— Maddie, 10/27/2011 -
" Go Dexter, go! Phew, this book had me worried for him! It really was a great book, especially since the last few haven't been as great. "
— Angie, 10/26/2011 -
" Ferociously fast moving ending. A fun romp. Dexter is a great character. I am glad I have never seen the TV show to opinionate me otherwise. "
— Don, 10/24/2011 -
" I loved it. No one sets a scene like Jeff Lindsay. I was left wondering how it would all turn out until the last page. Dexter is such a clever character. "
