"If you aren't sure what second-person narration looks like, check out this book. The main character here, Kyle, is telling the story but in second person, ie. using the term "you" to tell what's happening. It seems strange at first and has bothered me in the few other books I have read narrated in this perspective, but this story is so fast-paced that after awhile I barely noticed the point of view at all. I liked this book for a couple of reasons: first, it should appeal to an under-served audience - teenaged boys who don't necessarily enjoy reading, and second: it's a really fast read with enough mystery and suspense to keep readers engaged. Basically Kyle is your classic HS under-achiever just going through the paces. Then he meets a new kid, Zach. Zach's funny and smart but mysterious, and Kyle is both flattered and surprised by his attention. Their friendship soon takes a turn, however, and that is where the suspense builds. I don't want to say too much more except that I thought this was definitely worth my time!"

" So I really wanted to give this book four stars, but I just couldn't. It was a fast read and great content for teens--especially teen males, a tough to recommend to demographic. Unfortunately, I also felt like it tried to be edgy--and came up a little short. Also, I felt like I got left hanging. Some of that is admittedly my desire for closure, but I think in trying to get "you," the reader, to truly feel the part of the protagonist, the author didn't want to dive too deep into the main character's pysche, lest you feel a disconnect and then the entire "you" effect is lost. Despite all that, this will be one of my new fav recs for teens--tweens, even--and I can't wait to hear what inspired the author! "
