About Jim Morrison
Jim Morrison (1943–1971) was a poet, playwright, the lead singer of as well as a lyricist and composer for The Doors. Prior to his death, he self-published three volumes of his poetry, The Lords/Notes on Vision (1969), The New Creatures (1969), and An American Prayer (1970) , as well as The Lords and the New Creatures (1970). His posthumous works include Wilderness: The Lost Writings of Jim Morrison, Volume I (1988) and The American Night: The Lost Writings of Jim Morrison, Volume II (1990).
About the Narrators
Tom Robbins (1932–2025) has been called “a vital natural resource” by the Oregonian, “one of the wildest and most entertaining novelists in the world” by the Financial Times of London, and “the most dangerous writer in the world today” by Fernanda Pivano of Italy’s Corriere della Sera. A Southerner by birth, Robbins has lived in and around Seattle since 1962. He is the author of eight novels.
Patti Smith is the author of the National Book Award winner Just Kids, as well as Woolgathering, M Train, Year of the Monkey, and Collected Lyrics. Her seminal album Horses has been hailed as one of the top 100 albums of all time. Her global exhibitions include Strange Messenger, Land 250, Camera Solo, and Evidence. In 2005, the French Ministry of Culture awarded her the title of Commandeur des Arts et des Lettres. Inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2007, she is also the recipient of the ASCAP Founders Award, Sweden’s Polar Music Prize, the PEN/Audible Literary Service Award, and the Legion d’honneur.
Liz Phair is a Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter whose debut album, Exile in Guyville, has been hailed as a landmark of indie rock. She began her career in the early 1990s in Chicago, which led to her signing with the independent record label Matador Records. She has been a recording artist and touring performer for over twenty-five years. She is also a visual artist who majored in studio art and art history at Oberlin College.
Aden Hakimi is a voice-over actor based in Brooklyn. He studied theater performance at Northeastern University in Boston, with adjunct studies at Cambridge University in England and the Gaiety School of Acting in Dublin. For over a decade, he has done voice work for audiobooks, commercials, animation, and corporate videos.
