The Aliens by Murray Leinster is a gripping, high-stakes first-contact science fiction adventure from the golden age of the genre. Set during humanity’s expansion across the stars, the story follows the crew of the starship Niccola as they confront the mysterious and technologically advanced Plumies—an alien species whose intentions are entirely unknown. When an unexpected encounter leads to a violent misunderstanding and the two ships become physically fused together in deep space, humans and Plumies are forced into an uneasy alliance for survival.

"Great book. If you are a fan of the comics, toys, or movies, then you will love this book. Way better then the movies. I hope they remake the movies and follow this story. It is a blockbuster. Must read if you are a true Alien vs Predator fan."
— Angelo (5 out of 5 stars)
" Read it back in middle school. Enjoyed it then, along with several other Aliens, Predator, and Aliens vs. Predator books, but I probably wouldn't read it again. "
— Alex, 1/18/2014" An extremely well-written little jaunt... if the AvP movies had been based upon the novels instead of some hackneyed screenwriter's POS imaginings, they would've been MUCH better flicks! "
— Mark, 1/16/2014" Turn your mind off and enjoy! "
— Todd, 11/29/2013" If you like action then this is definitely a book for you. I really wish the movie had followed this book. Machiko rocks! "
— Tifa, 11/29/2013" Very good. Kept to the plot of the original graphic novel which is FANTASTIC. Thumbs up! "
— Leelan, 11/23/2013" See my review for the other one. "
— Robert, 4/6/2013" Excellent easy-read sci-fi, and it would make a good film (certainly a lot better than the absolute rubbish that has so far been released as AvP movies). "
— Jack, 11/10/2012" In this book is a whole new world viewed by both humans and a species known to us as Predators. There is a war and humanity is smack-dab in the middle of it. Which side will we choose and how will we survive? "
— Sam, 11/6/2012" This book was really dark and violent. One of the cooler comics I read as a kid "
— Kevin, 10/24/2012" Entertaining - fast read, nothing like the movies... "
— Erik, 7/18/2012" Pretty good AvP story. I haven't read many of them. "
— Matt, 4/19/2012" total bubble gum. sweet and dissolves quickly yet I read the entire series and can say without embarrassment it was fun to read them all "
— Jason, 3/29/2012" I loved this book. I enjoyed how the aliens and predators are and how a human interacts. I thought the movie where they were in Antartica was similar to the book in the predator/human interaction. "
— Heylo, 12/6/2011" A good premise, though I could do without all the cursing. "
— Beka, 11/26/2011" While I know others haven't enjoyed this story as much as I have, I found it a first rate and totally believable first contact story. It has held up well through the years unlike many SF stories of the period. "
