Publisher Description
Two men and two universes collide.
The deadly and tyrannical Emperor Tiberius, former captain of the I.S.S. Enterprise, has always been rankled by his failure to seize the tantalizing advances of the ancient First Generation. In the peaceful universe of the United Federation of Planets, Tiberius seeks a new ally -- the honorable, idealistic Starfleet Captain James T. Kirk.
Kirk is many things Tiberius is not. But he is also a man deeply in love with his wife -- and Teilani is dying. To save her life, Kirk will compromise his ideals and enter into his most dangerous alliance yet.
Kirk guides Tiberius to a long-abandoned First Federation base. There, he expects to find a source of power so great it will enable Tiberius to destroy Captain Jean-Luc Picard's U.S.S. Enterprise, and conquer the mirror universe -- as well as our own.
At the heart of their quest, something else is waiting: an object from a technologically advanced civilization revealed to Kirk by mysterious aliens who have influenced life within the galaxy over eons of time -- a message from the Preservers.

"I still can't get over the fact that Kirk married a Klingon/Romulan Hybrid woman. Otherwise, It was pretty good. Could have been one book though, and some characters just started randomly showing up at parts when they really shouldn't have been there."

Star Trek: Preserver Listener Reviews
-
" William Shatner should not be allowed to write Star Trek books. "
— Jennie, 12/18/2012 -
" While it pushes the boundaries of credibility at times, "Preserver" is still a truly mindblowing conclution to Shatner and the Reeves-Stevens' a bit uneven trilogy. Well done! "
— Mikael, 2/2/2012 -
" ...and this was when I'd had enough of the Shatnerverse books. "
— John, 10/22/2011 -
" I was very surprised with this book! "
— Nimrod, 8/5/2011 -
" Another enjoyable edition to Shatner's take on events post "Generations". Lots of fun, loved the whole thing and the climax takes your breath away, "
— Kate, 7/30/2011 -
" I enjoyed this one much more than the previous. A lot of complex tie-ins with (both) ST Universes. "
— Benjamin, 6/27/2011 -
" A wonderful read. I loved the characterization of the young Spock and Kirk. Especially the background interactions between Lady Amanda and Sarek. "
— Dragonbriar, 5/5/2011 -
" It was a fun read, but don't expect continuity here - it definitely is the author's "unique personal vision." "
— Adam, 5/3/2011 -
" Another amazing Star Trek novel by William Shatner. This is how Shatner envisions Kirk and Spock met. It is considered outside the movie and regular Star Trek universe. Fantastic and fun book. "
— Paxton, 11/5/2010 -
" Big fun candy reading for anyone who is a Star Trek fan! Just what my brain needed right now! "
— Gewbook, 9/1/2010 -
" I liked reading about young Kirk and Spock but halfway through got bored.. "
— Athena, 8/20/2010 -
" I really rather enjoyed this. The plot was well-developed and seemed - to a relative Star Trek novice, anyway - mostly faithful to Original Series canon. It was a quick read, but worth it if you are a fan of young Kirk or Spock. "
— Chris, 6/22/2010 -
" In general, I enjoy Mr. Shatner's works, but this one did not live up to what I've come to expect from him. "
— Eric, 3/20/2010 -
" It reads like any of the hundreds of Spock and Kirk meet as teenagers fanfiction floating around the internet complete with massive amounts of angst and unrealistic even for Star Trek feats. It's not an awful read, but it's not great either and the premise has been done much better before. "
— Mai, 3/10/2010 -
" I thought this was really good. And it has striking similarities with the new Star Trek movie, though this book came out way before the movie....hmmmm "
— Brenda, 1/14/2010
