Now available in a single collection, the explosive Sons of War series is a harrowing and realistic depiction of what a second American Civil War and the aftermath might look like, from former Homeland Security Disaster Mitigation Officer and New York Times bestselling author Nicholas Sansbury Smith.
Sons of War
Across the world, the United States recalls troops to combat civil unrest after the biggest economic meltdown in history. While some see the coming collapse as the end, cartels and rival gangs see opportunity. As open warfare erupts across the states, Marine Sergeant Ronaldo Salvatore fights his way back to LA, where his son has joined the police in the battle for a city spiraling into anarchy.
Sons of War 2: Saints
In the aftermath of a devastating civil war, America has fallen into chaos. Los Angeles is divided into different territories controlled by criminal organizations, and Don Antonio Moretti is hungry for more. While the crime families battle for power in LA, Dominic Salvatore and his elite team at the LAPD fight tirelessly to stem the rot. But their fight often seems futile in a force rife with corruption.
Sons of War 3: Sinners
The motto of Marine Sergeant Ronaldo Salvatore lives on in his son, Dominic, and his undercover team known as the Saints. With the support of LAPD Captain Zed Marks, the Saints embark on a mission to destroy the criminal organizations that have a stranglehold on Los Angeles. In a three-way death match, the streets will run with blood before a victor ever emerges.
Sons of War 4: Soldiers - written with Tom Abrahams
In the conclusion to the sweeping saga of postapocalyptic Los Angeles, Dominic Salvatore leads the Saints in a final push to purge the city of its demons. After sending their families into hiding, the Saints know that the stakes have never been higher—they will succeed decisively or perish. Every eye is on the prize. And anyone trying to walk the fence between good and evil will have to pick a side. With either choice, hell awaits.

“Smith delivers a great story that hooks you from the first sentence and is impossible to put down. There is plenty of action, and the characters are dynamic and multidimensional. The author who works in emergency management delivers an authentic plot with no BS. Post-apocalyptic books are somewhat of an irony these days given the fact that we are in the middle of the worst pandemic since the Spanish flu. Nevertheless, Sons of War is a great pulse-pounding read that will leave you breathless until the very last page.”

— Midwest Book Review“Nicholas Sansbury Smith is the undisputed master of fresh, page-turning postapocalyptic thrillers. Smith reboots the genre with Sons of War, a cleverly designed, tirelessly engaging story of societal collapse—told from an unexpected and ground-breaking point of view. Sons of War grabs you from the first pages and doesn’t let go.”
— Steve Konkoly, Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, and USA Today bestselling author of the Ryan Decker series“Much like Mario Puzo’s classic, The Godfather, Nicholas Sansbury Smith has created an elaborate and timely lens for us to examine family bonds. Sons of War brings us into an entirely plausible near-future dystopia to shine a light on sons thrust into circumstances of their fathers’ making.”
