"This story is about a latino named Julio who moves away and meets an african american named Romiette. Julio and Romiette have to go through the struggles of being an inter racial couple. They were both kidnapped and almost killed by a horrible storm when they were thrown into the river. If Julio would have not been able to save Romiette since she is does not know how to swim Romiette would have died drowning."

" The classic story retold, but updated to today. Romiette is an African-American girl from Cincinnati, OH. Julio is a transfer student from Corpus Christi, TX. They meet in a chat room and are instantly drawn to each other. But not everyone likes the idea of these two being a couple. Spoiler: This book has a happier ending than the original. "

" I thought this book was very corny. It was such a bad spin off of the classic. The characters were flat and so cheesy. The plot was very predictable and the names are so ridiculous. Even though I did not like to read it, I could see some young adults enjoying the book. I think girls would like this book. I think the idea of finding your soul mate and forbidden love would attract the females. "

" once again- 7th grade English teacher. I can't believe I read this all the way through, and while it's cute for little kids, I'm not looking forward to reading it over and over again as I teach it. It is, however, a unique spin on Romeo and Juliette, and a weird transformation into another genre. "
