"now that I have read everything by Stephenie Meyer I thought it was time to move on to Charlaine Harris. I decided to start with the "Aurora Teagarden" series...I really liked this and had NO idea who the murderer was until the VERY end :) I look forward to reading more in this series. "

Real Murders Listener Reviews
-
" A good mystery, little old fashion. The style of wrtiting reminded me of Agatha Christie's books - especially those of Miss Maple. However, it is light reading compare to Dame Christie as there is no "excitement". Well written book. Looking forward to reading 2nd book - A Bone to Pick. "
— Helen, 2/19/2014 -
" Quick easy to read murder mystery, the sort of book that doesn't require your brain in gear. Enjoyed the premise of the murders, and most of them I was aware of. Did feel this could be longer, the ending was very quick and felt a little flat, however I'll read the next to see what happens next. "
— Deanne, 2/13/2014 -
" After reading the Sookie Stackhouse books and eating them up, I bought all of this series...all of them. Ug! I am slowly going through them- haven't picked one up now for at least half a year. This series is so boring. I just don't understand how she can hit home with one series and suck so bad on another. "
— Lindsey, 1/22/2014 -
" I don't know what it is about Aurora, but I just love this whole series. I like Charlaine's characters because they are almost always strong, solid, people. I enjoy a good leading lady. ;) "
— Elizabeth, 1/11/2014 -

" Good mystery. Off beat heroine. "
— Polly, 12/14/2013 -
" Good mystery novels with a sensible Southern heroine. "
— Wealhtheow, 12/8/2013 -
" this was a pretty good book. not her True Blood but a good mystery novelist! "
— Alissa, 11/18/2013 -
" This book seems very much like a first effort. The mystery was interesting, but I'm curious to see how the series progresses. "
— Michele, 10/19/2013 -
" Ok very light and quick read "
— Melinda, 10/14/2013 -
" This was a good, quick read. Not exactly the best I've ever read and it didn't come anywhere close to Sookie. "
— Katty, 8/14/2013 -
" This is such a cute character! I think that the reason why I like Charlaine Harris' characters is because they are so relateable! I think that my fav so far is Roe, because she's a librarian! Okay, I'm not a librarian, but I love books and I work at Borders! I can't wait to read the rest now! "
— Shaun, 6/24/2013 -
" This was a very quick easy read. I was looking for something just fun, not intense or emotional and this fit the bill. "
— Nick, 6/23/2013 -
" I like Charlaine Harris as a writer, and really enjoyed this series. Aurora Teagarden is an eccentric, charming, little sleuth, who becomes entangled in all sorts of bizarre murder mysteries in her hometown. "
— Elise, 4/22/2013 -
" I liked this, although the main character did not do much detective-work, tbh. More like, was in the wrong place at the right time. "
— Sophie, 1/9/2013 -
" After all the raving about Sookie Stackhouse I've listened to from friends and family, I was interested to see how Mz. Harris handled a murder mystery - pleasantly surprised! Will continue this series, and check out her other murder mystery series as well. "
— Amanda, 11/3/2012 -
" I got hooked on this series instantly. "
— Hhsuzie, 7/18/2012 -
" One of her earliest works. Entertaining, but not as gripping as her later series so far. "
— Denise, 6/29/2012 -
" I've read 6 of this series in 3 days. It's a beyond easy read and pretty simplistic as far as mystery writing goes. Still, it kept me interested and I always love the characters Charlaine Harris writes. "
— Kileen, 3/14/2012 -
" This is Harris' typical style but I didn't enjoy it as much as her other series. Roe seems more believable as a character, but her life - and by extension the book - seemed a little flat. "
— Kate, 3/13/2012 -
" Good cozy read. I'll definitely continue the series. "
— Christa, 3/11/2012 -
" I mostly liked this book. I think I was expecting it to be a lot funnier, more in line with the Sookie books, but it was surprisingly lacking in the humor department. The mystery was well done, and it was fast paced. "
— Cori, 2/10/2012 -
" Murder mystery series that somehow manages to be...light-ish. "
— Emily, 6/26/2011 -
" didn't like it as much as I thougt I would. I probadly will not continue with the series. "
— Janice, 6/23/2011 -
" This series never grabbed me like the Lily Bard or early Sookie Stackhouse. "
— Maria, 6/21/2011 -
" Great start to an interesting series. Goes to show librarians aren't always meek & mild!<br/> "
— Tami, 6/15/2011 -
" Much better series than the Lily Bard one. I actually care what happens to the people in this book. While it wasn't that hard to figure out who the killer was, I enjoyed getting to the resolution. I look forward to reading more of the series. "
— Samantha, 6/15/2011 -
" I really enjoyed this. Different to what I have been reading recently. A lovely change. Did not suspect the murderer at all. "
— Leanne, 6/7/2011 -
" A fun murder mystery. I didn't solve the murder, but had a great time figuring out what murder was being imitateed. "
— Lissa, 6/6/2011 -
" I think this may be Charlaine's first book. It is not her best, but I will continue the series. Unlike some of her other series this does not have anything supernatural in it. The plot was interesting and it was a suprise ending. "
— Debbie, 6/4/2011 -
" Quick read but not much substance. "
— Judith, 5/31/2011 -
" Looking forward to reading the next books in the series! "
— Kerri, 5/28/2011 -
" The description on the book jacket was the best part of the book. "
