"The first lady is suspected of murdering her philandering husband, The President of the United States. Published in 2002 . . . No mention of a navy blue dress though so it must be based on fictional characters ;-) This is one of those situations that is funny from a distance. The story takes us through the legal proceedings with the appropriately nicknamed defense attorney Boyce "Shameless" Baylor. Sort of a fictional court tv trial of the century scenario. Listened to the audio. Good reader. Several laugh out loud moments. Very entertaining."

" I loved "Thank You for Smoking" (HATED the god-awful movie) so this seemed perfect for a plane ride home. It didn't disappoint. It skewers everyone to the point of parody and yet you end up caring about the characters and rooting for them. Fun read. "

Christopher Buckley is a novelist, essayist, humorist, critic, magazine editor, and memoirist. His books include Thank You for Smoking, The Judge Hunter, Make Russia Great Again, and The Relic Master. He worked as a merchant seaman and White House speechwriter. He has written for many newspapers and magazines and has lectured in over seventy cities around the world. He was awarded the Thurber Prize for American Humor and the Washington Irving Medal for Literary Excellence.
