Publisher Description
From #1 New York Times bestselling author comes a fast-paced romantic adventure, blending the thrills of NASCAR with laugh-out-loud romantic comedy in a story packed with shady deals, stolen racecars, and irresistible chemistry.
It’s the last race of the season, the wheels are smoking, and the temperature is rising at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Alexandra Barnaby is NASCAR-driver Sam Hooker’s race-day spotter, his eye-in-the-sky, telling him when to pass and when to let off the gas.
From her vantage point high above the grandstand, she’s also seeing goings-on in the infield that will change her life: events that will lead to a stolen racecar hauler, a kidnapped Saint Bernard, a bizarre murder, some restless nights under the covers with Sam, and a reunion with super cigar roller Rosa Florez and the queen of wholesale fruit, Felicia Ibarra.
From Miami, Florida, to Concord, North Carolina, and back to Miami, this is an action-packed, multi-car pileup of shady dealings, stolen technology, drive-thru windows, and destruction of personal property. It offers everything you always wanted to know about righteous indignation, stealing an eighteen-wheeler, stashing a dead body, and sex in the fast lane.

"This was a fun light hearted romp, with many of the same elements as the Stephanie Plum novels, a sassy woman, a sexy man (I agree not as sexy as Ranger) and a large dog who poops and smells! Not quite as good as the Plum novels, but an excellent substitute while waiting for the next installments."

Motor Mouth Listener Reviews

" much better than the first one. When you get to know an author's main character like Stephanie Plum, her others can seem like pale imitations. that's what Alex seemed like at first. But i think i am getting to like her. "
— Jennifer, 2/15/2014 -
" Liked it - not as good as the first one though (Metro Girl). Can't wait for the third to come out this summer (Trouble Maker)! "
— Annamarie, 2/14/2014 -
" Interesting story line. I'm not really into NASCAR, but I would imagine this would be great for a female fan. Interesting characters but I think I like Stephanie Plum better. "
— Jill, 1/29/2014 -
" Not as good as the Stephanie Plum series but a pretty good story overall. "
— Layne, 1/27/2014 -
" not janet evanovich's best, but still a fun book "
— Kathleen, 1/19/2014 -
" The second extension into this series, very entertaining. The situations are even crazier and the humor is still just as funny. "

" fun, quick read - feisty character, hilarious situations. "
— Kiara, 12/23/2013 -
" SUPER cheesy. All about NASCAR, which I had no idea when I started it...yet strangely compelling...I feel dirty...A good fast read. Candy for the brain. "
— Honor, 12/12/2013 -
" Not as good as the Plum novels. "
— Christine, 12/8/2013 -
" thus was my first evanovich novel and it was GREAT! it had me laughing, scared and everything but cry. I recommend this book! "
— Adrianne, 12/8/2013 -
" Funny book, I laughed out loud at times. The 2nd in the series, I hope JE writes more in this series. She let her son do a "grahic novel" (comic book for adults) for the 3rd installment, we'll see how good it is. "
— Gina, 10/10/2013 -
" This was a good book and I would read it again!! "
— Janay, 8/15/2013 -
" So slow! I was so disappointed! I normally really enjoy her books. "

— Christi, 11/29/2012 -
" Not quite as good as the first book in the series, but a good fix of Janet Evanovich fun nevertheless! "
— Jan, 10/1/2012 -
" Just as always Evanovich weaves a terrific story full of loveable, entertaining, and fun characters. It was exciting to see Hooker and Barney back in action with the addition of Beans the dog. It was a fun read full of great twists and turns, and in true Evanovich story telling, humor. "
— Sarah, 7/30/2012 -
" It took me longer get into this one but it was good. I prefer her Stephanie Plum series. "
— Bonnie, 7/10/2012 -
" Likeable, but not as laugh-out-loud funny as the early Stephanie Plum books. At least when Evanovich writes about NASCAR, she's got something more interesting to talk about than track decking and how many races Dale Earnhardt won (see St. Dale; better yet, don't). "
— Meredith, 4/18/2012 -
" Listening to the audio book. "
— Kari, 2/15/2012 -
" Makes you laugh out loud! Hilarous - great summer read. "
— Terresa, 1/6/2012 -
" Second in the series, as funny as the first. "
— LaRaine, 12/3/2011 -
" Janet Evanovich just makes me laugh out loud. I enjoyed this book. "
— Wendy, 11/7/2011 -
" A light and refreshing read. Nothing too serious with a little fun and humor mixed in. Definitely looking forward to reading the Stephanie Plum series. Not sure why it took me so long to actually read an Evanovich book. "
— DH, 8/5/2011 -
" Missed Sally but enjoyed the added little dude. I love how imperfect Stephanie is. And I really really really like Ranger more and more... "
— Mindi, 5/23/2011 -
" Excellent! My favourite so far. "
— Rosalind, 4/19/2011
