"I enjoyed the story, but found the social media / stream comments framing device a little rough. I think the framing does a good job of showing the author's point about how toxic and parasocial it can be, but that didn't make it any more fun to hear at great length. But would it be the same story without that framing? Probably not. Maybe this book will enlighten some folks who have never been exposed to transmisogyny? I guess I hope so?There's a CW at the beginning of the story, but the gist is that the comments are just as gross as they are in real life on any Twitch/YT/IG/FB stream. If you are a person who knows not to read the comments, and why, you may find this book challenging to get through."
