Publisher Description

In "Hospital Sketches" by Louisa May Alcott, the author draws from her own experiences as a Civil War nurse to craft a poignant and insightful narrative. Through a series of letters and sketches, Alcott captures the hardships, humor, and humanity of life in a wartime hospital. Her keen observations reveal the resilience of soldiers, the chaos of medical care, and the emotional toll on caregivers. With wit and compassion, she highlights themes of sacrifice, duty, and the enduring strength of the human spirit.
