And even though in the occupied countries the Nazis decreed the death penalty for possession of a firearm, there developed instances of heroic armed resistance by Jews, particularly the Warsaw ghetto uprising.

About Stephen P. Halbrook
Stephen P. Halbrook is Research Fellow at the Independent Institute and received his JD from Georgetown University Law Center and a PhD in social philosophy from Florida State University. He has taught philosophy and law at Tuskegee Institute, Georgetown University, Howard University, and George Mason University. He has won three cases he argued before the US Supreme Court, including one (Printz v. United States) that overturned portions of the Brady Bill requiring local police to enforce federal gun control regulations. His other books include The Founders’ Second Amendment: Origins of the Right to Bear Arms; Freedmen, the Fourteenth Amendment, and the Right to Bear Arms; Firearms Law Deskbook; and A Right to Bear Arms.
