Publisher Description

“Every shut eye ain’t sleep, every goodbye ain’t gone, and what’s done in the dark always comes to light.”

Mama Ella’s final words cling to Karina long after her grandmother passes—cryptic, unsettling, impossible to shake. When her estranged sister, Candace, appears at the funeral unannounced, those last words snap into focus, suddenly prophetic. Soon, buried truths and scabbed-over wounds surface, forcing the sisters to confront the betrayals and choices that shaped their lives—and the secrets that kept them apart.

An emotionally riveting debut, Done in the Dark is a tapestry of truth, lies, love and regrets, woven from the frayed ties of childhood trauma and the hard choices of adulthood.
