#1 New York Times bestselling author Christine Feehan freezes the blood in this fiercely sensual Carpathian novel …
Born into a world of evil and ice, Dragonseeker Lara Calladine is a child of three species yet belonging to none. She walked her chosen path alone, trusting no one. For beyond the frozen hell of her youth were even greater dangers.
Today, an expert in the study of ice caves, Lara searches for the source of her nightmares. Nicolas De La Cruz can help her. Though centuries of hunting and killing have taken their toll, he longs to feel sensual love without the hunger for blood.
As Lara and Nicolas search the treacherous Carpathian landscape, their tenuous trust shifts into an undeniable passion. But their mysterious pasts share a secret that could destroy them both …

"This definitely my favorite De La Cruz book so far. Nicholas is aggressive, hott, caring, kind, and tries so hard to fully understand Lara and her cares/concerns and past. Lara's story is hard and gritty and you almost can't help feeling the way she did as a little girl as you learn about her past. Feehan always has strong Carpathian men with their strong lifemates at their sides, but Lara is this whole empowering female character in her own right. She is definitely one of my favorite lifemates/heroines of this series. Nicholas is such a strong support for her and you truly feel the love he has for her at the end of the book. I hope Ms. Feehan lets us learn and see more of Nicholas and Lara in other books because you almost feel there is more to their story."

Dark Curse Listener Reviews
-
" I absolutely fell in love with this book when I first picked it up. Now Christine Feehan is one of my favorite authors, but I will be the first to tell you that I don't love all of her works. Dark Curse is up there with her best books. The main characters are well thought out and show emotional growth. Her plot is thought provoking and her obstacles are invasive. All in all a novel worthy of being known as one of Christine Feehan. "

" great read. i really enjoyed this book. "
— Peg, 2/17/2014 -
" Big twist of the ongoing mystery of what has been happening to the Carpathanian people. It is not without cost though as we learn more of the Dragonseeker's relatives especially of Lara (Razvan's daughter) and lifemate to Nicolas. Heartbreaking story that that will have you tearing up both with sadness and joy. "

" I was disappointed, to finish the book without knowing if Lara would be converted "
— Kristina, 1/20/2014 -
" Learning more history and more about the extinction of the Carpathians in this book. There is significantly less romance in it and more story, where as Possession was more romance than story. "
— Sarah, 1/18/2014 -
" I read this book after I read Dark Possession by the same author. I gained more insight into the Carpathian family that the series is about. I found this to be a good book and have reconsidered reading others in the series. "
— Kimberlee, 1/10/2014 -
" Loved the book except the ending which seemed as if it was missing a chapter. I hope that Dark Slayer may go into Lara a little bit. "
— Carolyn, 12/12/2013 -
" I finished this Dark series book begrudgingly. I love my series authors like Feehan who can string a good story together, but this one failed to really grab me like past titles that were great reads as well as syeamy reads. this was pretty lukewarm and I can only hope the next one is better. "
— Eboné, 12/9/2013 -
" As always, I love the Dark Series and look forward to reading them everytime. "
— Judy, 12/2/2013 -
" Aw... Nicolas. It's really sweet to read about a guy who found out he's wrong about what lifemates really are and struggled to make it up to his lifemate after hurting her accidentally. "

" Nicolas De La Cruz and Lara "
— Christie, 1/19/2013 -
" The story of Nicholas (De La Cruz) & Lara. An enjoyable read. I agree she could have left out all the carpathanian chants, spells, etc. I found it very distracting. I also found the end to be a tad abrupt--left it for the next installment. But I am still a big of fan of Feehan and her Dark Series. "
— Abrown, 12/26/2012 -
" I'm waiting with Baited breathe. "
— Yolanda, 12/4/2012 -
" This series never gets old. You would think after 19+ books it would get old, but it doesn't. Like the way you find out what is going on with prior book characters. Love the action i this one. And loved the fact that you learned something about what is going on with the people in it too. "
— Andrea, 11/9/2012 -
" Another Great one from Feehan! I loved it. "
— Heidi, 9/21/2012 -
" This is the only Christine Feehan I have read that disappointed me. I was so eager for Nicholas' story but the detailed descriptions of the rituals bored me. "
— Kat, 9/16/2012 -
" good book great narration!! I wish the narrators took notes because the accents were so OFF. Raven is American, why does she have a carpathian accent? Skylar is french WHY does she have a carpathian accent? "
— Taria, 7/11/2012 -
" Brilliant series, have a go at them! "
— Manda, 5/9/2012 -
" I love all of Christine Feehan's books. I am a sucker for romance novels, but her books paint the most clear pictures. You get to know the characters. She leaves you with a feeling that love and hope will overcome anything. "
— Jenn, 12/8/2011 -
" great follow up to the series "
— Isabel, 9/15/2011 -
" It was good. Pretty graphic/gory. Very extreme on the supernatural so if you are looking for something that feels more like it could ever actually happen then this isnt the book for you but if you want a pretty severe escape from relity then this is the ticket. "
— Kayla, 5/3/2011 -
" Oh man ^___^ you'll love Nicholas and Lara's story. The whole Dragon thing is pretty epic too ^_- you love this if you love carpathian novels. Enjoy!! "
— Cheyenne, 4/26/2011 -
" very erotic again, it shows how even in the hardest times and when you doubt yourself the one person who loves you the most will be there for you through it all. "
— Krismiharu, 4/5/2011 -
