About the Authors
Benjamin Franklin (1706–1790) was born in Boston, Massachusetts. He is one of the most celebrated figures in American history.
Nikola Tesla (1856–1943) was a Serbian American inventor, electrical engineer, mechanical engineer, physicist, and futurist who is best known for his contributions to the development of the alternating-current electrical system, which made the universal transmission and distribution of electricity possible. His invention of the induction motor underlies the modern electrical power industry.
Henry Ford (1863–1947) was an American industrialist, the founder of the Ford Motor Company, and the sponsor of the development of the assembly-line technique of mass production.
Galileo Galilei (1564–1642)was an Italian astronomer, physicist, and engineer. His Dialogue Concerning the Two Chief World Systems is one of the most important scientific treatises ever written. Using the dialogue form, a genre common in classical philosophical works, he masterfully demonstrates the truth of the Copernican system over the Ptolemaic one, proving, for the first time, that the earth revolves around the sun.
