Publisher Description

When a scientific expedition to the Antarctic goes horribly and lethally wrong, it falls to Dr Dyer to try and swear others off from following in his expeditions footsteps, to try and prevent them from journeying to those terrifying mountains of madness, and the horror that lies beyond... Initially refused by Weird Tales, but then taken up by Astounding Stories in the April of 1936, At the Mountains of Madness is a longform Novella, which though disliked at the time, has since become recognised as one of his finest works and has inspired numerous other fictional works and films. About H. P. Lovecraft

H. P. Lovecraft (1890–1937) was an American author who achieved posthumous fame through his influential works of horror fiction. Virtually unknown and only published in pulp magazines before he died in poverty, he is now regarded as one of the most significant twentieth-century authors in his genre. He was born in Providence, Rhode Island, where he lived most of his life. His relatively small corpus of work consists of three short novels and about sixty short stories.

About Michael Ward

H. G. Wells (1866–1946) earned a reputation as “a prophet of his time,” thanks to groundbreaking classics such as The Time Machine, The Invisible Man, and The War of the Worlds. Born into humble beginnings in Kent, England, Wells rose to become one of the most widely read and influential authors of the 20th century. In addition to his many short stories, Wells’s visionary themes continue to resonate, securing his legacy as a pioneer of science fiction and modern thought.
