Sofia Costanza Brigida Villani Scicolone (born on September 20, 1934), known professionally as Sophia Loren, was an Italian actress considered one of the last major stars from the Golden Age of Hollywood cinema. Her career spanned over 70 years, highlighted by her performance in the 1960 film, Two Women, which earned her a Best Actress Oscar. Loren has also received five special Golden Globes, a BAFTA Award, a Grammy Award, and an Honorary Academy Award for lifetime achievements. The following is a recording from 1958 when Loren was 23-years-old.

About Sophia Loren

Sophia Loren is an international film star and Italy’s most renowned and honored actress. She won an Academy Award for Best Actress for her role in Two Women, making her the first artist to win an Oscar for a foreign-language performance. She holds the record for having earned six David di Donatello Awards for Best Actress. After starting her family in the early 1970s, Loren chose to make only occasional film appearances. As well as an Academy Award, Loren earned a Grammy Award, five special Golden Globes, a BAFTA Award, a Laurel Award, as well as the Honorary Academy Award in 1991. In 1995, she received the Cecil B. DeMille Award for lifetime achievement. Loren lives in Geneva and frequents Los Angeles where her two sons and grandchildren live.
