Big Happy Family Audio was founded in 2006 by Jessica Kaye, an accomplished lawyer and book publisher with nearly 2 decades of experience in the audiobook publishing industry. The goal of the publishing company was to make it easier for small and medium-sized publishers with a limited number of audiobook titles to work with large distributors of downloadable audiobooks that typically only maintain relationships with the largest publishers due to the associated administrative costs. Acting as an intermediary between the two parties, Big Happy Family Audio groups together titles from their ever-growing portfolio of smaller publishers in order to offer them as a cost-effective package deal to the large audio book distributors.
For many niche authors this has proven to be a wonderful arrangement with many that may have been otherwise lost in the shuffle getting to see their works presented to a much larger audience. As a result Big Happy Family Audio offers audio book titles across an incredibly diverse selection of genres ranging from motivational audiobooks and self-hypnosis audiobooks, to classic American literature and contemporary fiction titles.
