" It took me a bit to get into this one because I really didn't like Alek at first. Deryn's story kept me going though, and I'm glad it did. I ended up really enjoying this book. It's historical fiction, but set in an alternate universe, which was very cool. I recognized a lot of what was going on, but much was new. It was a very fun read and I can't wait to pick up the sequel! (Also, Scott Westerfeld is a Vassar grad, so woo!) "
