" I read this book club selection somewhat reluctantly as Philippa Gregory is not exactly known for her historical accuracy, and I like my historical fiction to be as accurate as possible while still being entertaining. Sure enough, by the time I was few pages in I had already noticed several inaccuracies and was ready to toss the book aside. I kept reading, though, and was soon caught up in the story. Told from the point of view of Mary Boleyn, Anne Boleyn's younger (younger in this book, but in reality most historians believe older) sister, it chronicles the Boleyn Family's rise to power in the court of Henry VIII. It is actually a rather shocking book, as we see how families in the royal court attempted to gain power by pimping their young daughters to the king. Being a historical romance, there is some sex, but it is not too graphic, and I wouldn't call this book a bodice ripper. I probably won't read any more Philippa Gregory, but have to admit that I enjoyed this book and even learned a bit about the workings of royal court life. I do fail to see why the author felt she needed to change the age and birth order of the Boleyn sisters to tell her story. "
