The Funny Thing Is... Audiobook

" Same feelings towards this book as her previous book. It's all just exaggerated/funny stories. I would like to get to know Ellen. "

" Really 2.5 stars, just because a lot of the chapters are from her stand up.. which is WAY funnier when you can see/hear her doing it. There are some little gems in here that I haven't heard before, tho. "

The story concepts are great and some of her new jokes are great but the book, overall, lacks the punch from her first book. The humor level is not has high as the comedy material she threw at you in reading"..my point, and I do have one." Many times in the book I felt that she was trying to hard to get a laugh out of the reader or just pulling at random topics to make funny. The book still made me laugh and is a great read during breaks at work or before bed. A quick read for a lazy afternoon. "

" Not a bad book - it had it's very funny moments, like when she was talking about the only way she could eat just ONE piece of pizza is if after eating one slice she konked herself in the head with a rock. However, the ending chapter was nonsense, and several chapters were pulled directly from her HBO special, which she referenced filming while she was writing this book. Not a great idea to share material between the two when they came out so close together. However, it kept my attention, and I really do like Ellen so it was worth the time! "
