" I've enjoyed most of these books, and this one was entertaining as well. I think they compare well to Patricia Cornwell's Kay Scarpetta books. One issue I have with both these books and the Kay Scarpetta books is that the supposedly intelligent women in the books are constantly getting themselves into physical danger, and being rescued by the men. In response to the earlier review comparing one of the books unfavorably to the series, I think the books seem much more realistic. "

" Temperance is visiting the Low Country excavating a historic site when she finds a modern body. She helps the local coroner, has her boyfriend and exhusband visit, and finds multiple bodies. The motive is grisly but the whole thing is believable. I like this Temperance more than the TV one "
