Publisher Description

When twenty-seven-year-old Bette Robinson quits her Manhattan banking job, she knows she won't miss the eighty-hour workweeks, her claustrophobic cubicle or her revolting boss's Quotes of the Day.

Then Bette meets Kelly, head of Manhattan's hottest PR and events planning firm, and suddenly she has a brand-new job where the primary requirement is to see and be seen.

The work at Kelly & Company takes Bette inside the VIP rooms of the city's most exclusive nightclubs, to parties crowded with celebrities and socialites. Soon she's dating an infamous playboy who's great for her career but bad for her sanity -- and scaring off the one decent guy she meets. As her coworkers repeatedly point out, how can you complain about a job that pays you to party? Bette has to agree -- until she begins appearing in a vicious new gossip column. That's when Bette's life on paper takes on a whole new meaning -- and she learns the line between her personal and professional lives is...invisible.

"After reading this, it made me think who could one of the main characters be modelled after? Several people came to mind. Tale of a person pursuing their dream and losing their identity and being reminded to be true to themselves. I could read this book for hours at a time."

Quotes

  • “This is a solid sophomore novel from Weisberger, who gives us a smart, complex character to root for in Bette.”

" Bleah. Per non parlare dell'autocelebrazione dell'autrice nei ringraziamenti: stucchevole e inappropriata. "

" Loved this book. Interesting to see how rich live and party. Just glad that my life is nothing like there's but enjoyed getting a glance at that type of lifestyle. A fun and easy read. "

" Compared to Lauren's first book, this was definitely a disappointment. It was a great read, very riveting, although plotline was unbelievable. It was hard for me to put it down and I finished in about 3 days. The disappointment came at the ending. It was another character gets despressed and instead of then having a happy ending, it was completely open ended. When I'm reading for fun, I expect a happy ending to my romantic books. If I'm reading for thought provoking, I'll pick a different genre. "
